“stay somewhere else!”

Well........parking is a joke. The room wasn't too bad other than there are no heavy blankets. Just a light one on the bed. pool was small and water was too cold. We accidentally left a cell phone charger in room. they wanted to charge $25 to ship it to us. Most chains will ship to you at THEIR cost. Will never stay here again. would rather sleep in my car!

“Would definitely return”

This hotel was within walking distance of most sights of downtown Toledo. It was right on the water and had a nice view. You should know, however, that you need to pay for parking, either with the hotel's valet service or nearby parking garages.

“Very disappointing.”

Horrible valet parking situation (with valet as the only option), clogged tub, not enough towels in the room, badly stained blankets, inadequate AC, weak wi-fi that went in and out: not worthy of a 3 star hotel!

“Not impressed”

The air conditioning wasn't working right and the hallways were smoldering and the rooms were very humid and smelly. Expected a lot more from the Crown name.

“Pleasantly suprising stay”

The Crowne Plaza Toledo was a suprisingly nice place to spend our weekend away. The hotel was very clean, the staff was helpful and polite, and the location was beautiful. We spent a lot of time just sitting by the river front or in the adjoing plaza. It was extremely peaceful and relaxing. The only complaint about the hotel that we had was the pool was much smaller than it appeared in the pictures we had seen. The neighborhood that the hotel is located in is safe and several area attractions are located close by. I would recommend the art museum and a Mud Hens game. The zoo was also very nice. We will go back to the city and this hotel sometime in the future.

“Hotel is nice, but downtown Toledo is desolate”

We just stayed here because we needed an overnight in a city where friends lived. Usually, a downtown location means restaurants and such nearby. Downtown Toledo is a ghost town. So, if you just want a pretty nice room to sleep in, you will find it, and the restaurant is typical of hotels like this. But you will not find anything else around it. We walked 10 blocks and only came across a coffee shop and a Subway.

“Snippy staff”

My girlfriends and I were visiting Toledo for our annual girls' weekend, and from the moment we got there we had some problems. We arrived early and asked if we could check in, and the guy at the desk said sure, but then was very put out when we asked if we could have rooms on the same floor (we had one room on the 9th and one on the 4th) and wouldn't give them to us because we were checking in early, nor would he consider allowing us to check in to one early and another on the same floor later. One of the rooms had a broken drain in the tub and broken air conditioning, and my friend found nails (the metal kind) on the carpet, so they ended up switching one room anyway, but just across the hall. The valets were kind of snotty and very concerned about whether we'd paid the valet fee for both cars, which we had. They treated me like I was trying to get free valet parking. We definitely would not stay there again. All of us are pretty savvy travelers and we all have had much better experiences elsewhere.

Area recommendations

We ate at two good places: Beirut, an awesome Lebanese place, and Uncle John's Pancake House. Both we very casual and not very fancy to look at but had fantastic food. Beirut is famous for its pita and hummus, both of which were the best I've ever had in a restaurant, and all the main dishes we had were raved over. The Greek Chicken omelet at the pancake house was great (I'm not crazy; i did also have pancakes as a side, and they were good as well). We were right on the riverfront, which is attractive, and near to the good art museum. Toledo isn't a bad place despite its Midwestern problems.

“Better than expected”

After reading a few reviews about the Crowne Plaza Hotel I wasn't really expecting much from my stay. But generally, it was a good experience. The Hotel is well situated in the downtown area and has nice access to the river. The Hotel seems have been renovated somewhat recently and is generally in good condition. It is well priced.
