“Spectacular!”
Wow, we travel all over Europe and try to find small hotels with lots of character. This hotel was amazing. Great location in central Toledo but not by the tourist main square, the rooms were huge (we upgraded to a premium room and could not believe how large it was), hotel was quaint, tons of character and all of the staff were super helpful, gave great recommendations on best local restaurants in town. One of our favorite small independent hotels ever. Highly recommended.
“Great hotel”
Beautifully kept and very clean. Right next to the Greco Museum and St. Tomas Church. Front desk gave us a map and showed us where to visit and even gave us a very good recommendation for dinner. Can only get there by taxi from the train station, about 7-9 euros. Bathroom was spacious and the room was comfy. Would definitely go back!
“Very nice hotel! Great location, great service, great people!”
We stayed there in late October for one night. Had no problem finding it using our GPS. Very nice hotel, our room 151 was very clean and quiet, it was facing the street, had double windows with internal shutters, new very nice size bathroom. Great location right across the street from the El Greco's house museum, would recommend to visit the museum even though El Greco has not lived there. Parking is on premises for an extra fee. Breakfast was included and was very good. Front desk was supper helpful and sweet, spoke fluent English, would highly recommend this hotel.
“Great hotel”
The staff was very nice and tried to help with all of my silly questions. The location is at the edge of town but it's a short walk (up, up, up) to shopping and restaurants. There are also some good restaurants without having to climb. There is no getting away from stiff legs in Toledo so I would still pick this hotel even though it's kind of at the bottom of the hill. You MUST take a taxi from the train or bus. It is well worth the money!
“Second stay”
The English speaking staff was efficient and caring. From our balcony, we could see the gardens at El Greco's house. The breakfast offered a nice variety of food and convenience as an early breakfast is not easy to find outside the hotel.
“Character and comfort... Just superb!!”
Although we only spent one niht, I wish every hotel we stayed in had had this much character! It was even more than we had hoped for. The lobby was quaint and comfortable, the hotel was a bit maze-like, but so so charming. The staff was courteous and helpful. They spoke English, too.The breakfast was outstanding with many choices to satisy every kind of taste! I would stay here again and encourage anyone else to stay here, too.
“A wonderful Boutique hotel!”
I had a great time in Toledo and really recommend this hotel. Great location. The hotel is beautiful, very clean and so charming. I had a reservation issue and the manager was very helpful. I highly recommend this hotel!
“Excellent choice”
The hotel is a modernized take on an old style of home in the Jewish quarter, which is directly adjacent to the El Greco museum, several key churches and other sites. The staff was pleasant, and the rooms spacious and spotless. Also quite quiet in the evenings (although we had our windows closed) and comfortably climate controlled. Not directly in the center of the (small) city, but that was a plus to us, since we enjoyed walking and discovering Toledo.
“la cucaracha”
The worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The room we were placed in was in the basement and they were doing construction down there. There we no windows and the room was very damp and smelled of mildow. My daughter had breathing while in the room. I asked to be moved but they did not. In the morning we woke to 3 huge cock roaches on the floor and 1 in our luggage. Absolutely nasty. In the morning they did finally apologized and stated they should not have placed us in this room. The rest of the hotel did appear to be fine and other guest seemed happy. But I would still not recommend this hotel!!!
“Great but small”
The only complaint relates to the size of the room and bathroom. The front desk people were very helpful and the room was lean and modern. The free us of a computer is a nice touch.Frederick
