Topeka Country Inn

Posted Jul 4, 2014
Pros: Felt warm and friendly when arrived. Smelled great when entered the room. not the usual stale odors like most hotels have.
Location: Very close to I-70 and restaurants near by
Best hotel for the money. Clean, friendly staff and great rates.

One Night Stay

Posted Jun 19, 2014
Pros: The staff was helpful and pleasant
Location: Many dining options nearby
Our nonsmoking room smelled like smoke. The room needed a fresh coat of paint on the walls, many scratches and marks on the walls. The chalking at the base of the toilet was stained. The toilet also sounded like a steam engine after flushing for several minutes. This Country Inn wasn't as nice as the others we've stayed at, I won't be stopping at this one again.

We love this place!

Posted Jun 11, 2014
Pros: Always welcoming, great staff!
Location: Lots in this area. Walk or drive to many restaurants both local and national. Gas, Bank & Liquor store across the street, easy access two main hwys.
My sister's and I always stay here when we come to Topeka for family business. We wouldn't even think of staying anywhere else. Everyone is so nice and welcoming, even when we show up really late at night and don't make much sense. They are always so helpful. We especially love the fresh baked cookies and the manager, Chris. I mean Chris and then the cookies (-; The pool and hot tub are always welcoming and having a nice breakfast with a wide variety of choices. We always find someone nice to talk to everyday whether it is the staff or even their customers. We can't wait to go back!

Let down

Didn't get the rooms we were expecting. We had seven people and we got two rooms with king beds instead of suites. Rooms were worth the 179.00 price.

Stay out of the water.

Check in went great. The manager even called the room to make sure everything was fine. We did report one problem in the room. The commode was plugged. The manager informed us that he had no maintenance crew available, and offered us the use of a plunger (seriously). I declined and invited him to come in and take care of the problem, which he did. I would have to say the personal service was pretty good. We were disappointed in the pool, though. The pool and hot tub were not heated at all. In fact, the hot tub was colder than the pool.

Not clean

Posted Mar 24, 2014
Pros: The only good thing was the convenient location to the highway.
Cons: The entire hotel needs a good scrubbing.
Location: There are a few restaurants near by and it isn't too far from KU.
My family stopped here for one night as we traveled to Colorado for vacation. It was in a great location, but extremely disappointing. There were dirty sheets on the pull-out couch bed and the overall room cleanliness was not good. The continental breakfast in the morning was disappointing as well.

Probably won't return

Posted Mar 20, 2014 on Hotels.com
The room was clean, but the bathroom seemed old and outdated. The bed was comfortable and front desk clerk was very friendly. This is the second time we have chosen to stay here over a spring break vacation and both times the indoor pool was out of order. So disappointing! The continental breakfast was poor. There was little to choose from, and when we did, both the bagels and pre-made French toast were hard and stale. There were but a few eggs in the pan. No one came to refill items while we were there. When we checked out an hour later, our dirty breakfast dishes were still on the table where we had left them.

Thanks for Country Inn & Suites Hotels! We are sorry to hear, though, about the cleanliness issues you encountered in the lobby/frontdesk area. Your comments have been passed along to hotel management to follow up with both our housekeeping and maintenance departments.Broken tile in the bathroom and heater its been fixed on same day. It is our mission for guests to enjoy a comfortable and clean stay! We truly appreciate your business and do hope to see you as our guest again soon. Renovation was not our choice but One of the guest broke the sprinkler head in their room by hanging hanger .Lobby was damaged big time due to water running for 30 minutes at 2 am. Again we are really sorry. We will be back to normal in just few days with best customer service and best hotel.
