A delightful retreatPosted May 28, 2014 on Hotels.com
We elected to overnight in Tordesillas on our way from Santiago de Compostela to Madrid in order to have a brief rest. It turned out to be a lovely stay. The parador is pretty, the room was spacious, the setting on a lake was romantic. Overall, the parador is a wonderful treat.

At usual parador high standard. Not convenient for walking into town. Great price from hotels.com

Could be nicer for a 4-star hotelPosted Sep 15, 2013
Pros: The decor and character
Cons: Basic facilities they should provide to their guests within the room - things like ironing, & bathrobe (you would have to rent this for some euros.
Location: Lovely location - there's the famous convent of Tordesillas, full of history, although we didn't get to visit due to the wedding preparations...
We stayed in this hotel before attending a wedding. We were very surprised to find that there was nothing to iron our clothes in the room, so we went to reception to ask for one. Having spoken with the reception staff we were surprised and disappointed to find the hotel does not provide its guests anything for ironing in the room, and we'd have to order this via the laundry service. My boyfriend handed his shirt and linen suit to them, but the suit was not well ironed at all, and the trousers were still wrinkled... At the end they didn't charge for ironing of the suit, but the whole experience was disappointing.

Was this a Parador or a Novotel?Posted Jun 8, 2013 on Hotels.com
Service not great, English fairly poor. Helpful in places but not in others. It was OK for an overnight stop.

Santander ferry within easy reach (Portsmouth) No complaints really. Staff efficient and helpful. Spanish timetable, so if you have dinner here, 21.00 is early. Good base to explore a very interesting area of Spain (like it used to be).

I was surprised that there was no tea or coffee making facilities in the room - simlarly a clock is also useful in a room
