“Nice Hotel in Scarborough”
The hotel location is very convinient if you want to stay in North East side of Toronto. It is next to the highway 401 and Kennedy. The hotel was quite nice and clean. The service was great. The pool is quite nice for kids. We would stay again.
“Extremely Great Customer Service. Thanks Todd!!!”
Kinda distant from downtown, but they make up for it in customer service! Breakfast was pricey.
“We would definitely go back.”
We do not recommend dining at this hotel as it is way too expensive.
“Good Alternative”
Wish they had a small store on site and had wireless in the room. Good bar area for dinner and exercise room w/pool. Big negative for me is location - some 10 miles from office, which with Toronto traffic is a big problem
“Friendly service, nothing fancy but very comfortable for the price, will come back!”
We are impressed with the friendly staff at the front desk. They are very patient when we asked for directions and reccomendations around the city. We stay at a "premier" room, which was comfortable and clean. The cleaning lady does show up rather early in the morning so remember to put on a "do not disturb" sign if you are not a morning person. The sport bar on the first floor has friendly service, good food for decent price and a good selection of beer. There is a mall nearby with grocery stores, about 10 minutes' walk or a short drive from the hotel, which is great news for those who forgot to bring their socks or toiletories. Two minor complaints: 1/ The "upscale" Japanese restaurant on the top floor is upscale in price and decor only. We tried it the first night and found the service very slow and the food mediocre -- if you like Asian food, you'll have much better choices for much lower prices in downtown Toronto. The view from the window is spectacular though, and the staff were friendly. 2/ wi-fi connection is unreliable inside the hotel room, if you have a mobile device you need to go down to the lobby for internet connection. Plug-in high speed internet connection is available in the room for wired devices, we didn't use it so we can't comment on that. Overall we are very happy with our stay and will come back to this hotel.
“A bit of a hike from the city, but a lovely hotel”
You will need a car to stay at this hotel, it is NOT public transit accessible (unless you don't mind taking a train and a bus). Other than that we really liked it. Rented a car right in the hotel and took it to kennedy station and rode the green line into town. We had the breakfast buffet voucher and they gave us 3! Having a delicious breakfast for three mornings, for the two of use saved a lot of money. Also the omelets to order were great, as well as the service. We did enjoy the pool and the hot tub a bit before they got too crowded...and they did let me go down the waterslide which was surprisingly fun. It seemed like it would be a great hotel to bring a family, we had fun though as a young couple. The "whitesides terrace" was under construction but it looked like it was going to be nice, overlooking the pool. We ate dinner at TJs and it was cozy and the food and beer were great. The staff were extremely helpful, and they let us stay until 2pm free of charge.
“Do not want to go back to this hotel”
We have been staying at this hotel every time we visit Toronto. The customer service, maintenance, cleanliness of the room were bad this time. The quality of this hotel has gone bad. When we wanted to order food and called the room services line it was set to go to an answering machine. This is not appropriate. We need to talk to someone when we order food, not a machine. Expedia offered free breakfast but the hotel did not give a proper voucher which was a hassle every time when we had to explain that we had a free breakfast package and the hotel reception did not give us a voucher for every day, they just gave one little paper to show the waitress which the waitress was not aware of and gave us a hard time. Not a happy experience.
“Very bad service”
I have been going to this hotel for the past 12 years. I have found the hotels standards in every way to have gone down drastically. Due to convenience I have been using this hotel. The staff at the restaurant and the front desk were very rude. The rooms were not clean. Even the cleaning done was very basic. There were a lot of stains and dust . We could not open the door and when the front desk was contacted, the receptionist was very rude. Over all the hotel is slowly becoming a motel with a hefty room charge. It is a pity a hotel that is conveniently located has gone down so much. And the staff does not care. Where are the times of good customer service?
“Upgrades recommended”
The draw would definitely by the pool for young families. The hotel itself could do with some upgrades, carpet, T.V. Etc.
“Functional not flashy”
The Delta East is a pleasant enough of a hotel and is still relatively comfortable. There were only minor irritations including an old TV (there is not much worth seeing on Canadian channels anyway). I called down to order breakfast the night before and was informed that I would have to fill out the card left in the room. When I explained that I didn't want what the card had, I was told to write it in. While this was annoying, the food did come when and I requested it and the order was correct. The other issue is that there are only 1 1/2 restaurants in the hotel; one is a very upscale Japanese, the other (1/2) consists of food in the bar. I ended up going out in the cold for dinner. One final issue was that there is no gift shop to buy necessities. The Delta is a decent, but not memorable place to stay and I would say it has slowly declined over the years. They might consider a renovation.
