Great location. Very central.

Posted Dec 16, 2014
Pros: Very helpful staff. Offered a lot of tips of what to see and how to get there as well as restaurant recommendations.
Cons: The rooms are pretty small. I upgraded to a deluxe room and it was slightly larger, but still very small.
Location: Huge mall nearby. Ice Skating, restaurants. Niagara Falls is a bus ride away. Kensington market is a fun experience. Music scene is great!
Walking distance to shopping and restaurants. Public transportation is excellent.

Great hotel for kids!

Posted Dec 15, 2014
We went for a girls weekend in the city-me, my sister and my goddaughter (aged 10). The pool was great, the water slide made us shrek with joy and the restaurant made some tasty food. But...our bedroom sliding door to outside did not close properly, so we had a somewhat loud, drafty evening. Although, it did made us snuggle deeper into our comfy beds!

Great hotel...would stay again!

ONLY let down was that the indoor pool was closed on the day we were there,...but we totally understood. Hope to enjoy it some other time soon.

A Once Great Hotel Gone Downhill

Posted Dec 15, 2014
Pros: We liked the following: Market Garden Restaurant Family Pool and Child's Play Area Proximity to shopping and other attractions
Cons: Customer service by staff overall Cleanliness of elevators Some areas in rooms - drafts by patio doors etc
Location: The location is great as it is right downtown and close to a lot of stores like the Eaton Centre and to other attractions such as the Aquarium
I use to stay at this hotel often several years ago - both for business and pleasure. I loved the downtown location so I was excited to take my daughter and granddaughter on a XMAS shopping trip. We asked for a room with a view when we booked, preferably the CN tower side. We ended up with a view on the 12th floor of Young Street which was ok but there was a constant drilling noise - doing renovations next door. We asked if the drilling would continue and the staff person did not know so we told him to find out. It was to continue all day Saturday. We were moved to the 5th floor - no view - but presumably a renovated room with no drilling - not really a choice. The bathtub stopper did not work which made it hard to bathe a 3 year old. The taps in the bathroom were loose. There was a cold draft by the patio door which meant we had to turn up the heat in the room but it was still on the cool side. Staff were not very helpful. The elevator carpets looked like they had not been vacuumed in some time and one of the railings was loose - no screw in it. The Market Garden makeover, however, was fabulous. The family swim area and playroom were was also great for my 3 year old granddaughter. I was so disappointed in the overall experience that I will not book here again. It saddened me have this experience.

Stuck in an old room

Posted Dec 14, 2014
Pros: The location, friendly and accommodating staff.
This stay was not as comfortable as the last time, which if I rated must have been a 5. The room smelled old, looked old and was quite small. The remote needed to be changed, and I had to have someone come in and check the heater, of which settings had been changed after housekeeping was in. The shower curtain was about 3 inches too long and laid on the bottom of the tub, which is very uncleanly.

Comfortable and reasonably priced Toronto hotel

Posted Dec 14, 2014
My first stay at the Chelsea hotel since it became the Eaton Chelsea. Service continues to be very good and the room I had was quiet and comfortable. Very good value for the cost. I will stay at this hotel again when I next visit Toronto.
