“hotel review for lakeshore”
Great location in a great area. Even though it is on the outskirts of downtown, there are great restaurants and activities in walking distance. Downtown is 15 minutes away. Hotel is clean, comfortable and has a gym and resturant. The only complaint is lack of parking on weekends.
“Nice hotel, but . . .”
Overall the hotel was fine, but the parking situation was a nightmare. There are not enough spaces for the amount of guests. You had to turn over your car keys to the front desk because cars were double-parked in order to fit everyone's cars.
“Very Average”
The hotel service is very nice. The hotel itself is older so it needs some work. The hallway is stuffy and smelled a little musty. The room was nice and had a remodeled bathroom. The location and neighborhood was great! The hotel is right on the lake so you can walk across the street to it. Its a good option if you're on a tight budget. But if you can afford it, you should stay elsewhere.
“Convenient - Not Quiet”
Although the room was on the small side, it was actually nicely appointed. I am aware that this is a pretty old building, and the renovations are well done so that you don't notice this except for 2 things. One is the service elevator still has the old floor indicator in it - simply cosmetic. The other is that the renovations did not seem to include the windows - reason being is that with the Gardener Expressway at the back of the building, which my room was facing - the traffic noise is constant - all night as well. Be sure to request a room facing the lake to get some rest, and/or bring along some good and comfortable ear plugs.
“would stay here again and again.”
the room was large, clean, and beautiful. staff was very helpful and friendly. i would recommend the hotel to anyone. and i would stay here again without hesitation.
“EXTREMELY HELPFULL”
IT WAS EXTREMELY MEMORABLE. THE FRONT DESK STAFF WERE VERY HELPFULL. THEY LET US CHECK IN EARLY. WE WERE ON A 6:30 AM FROM NY. BUT HAVE BEEN AT THE AIRPORT SINCE 4:30AM (INTERNATIONAL RULES) AND WE HAD ONLY A FEW HOURS SLEEP. IF IT WASN'T FOR THEM OUR TRIP WOULD HAVE BEEN A DISASTEROUS START. BRAVO!!!1
“Bad service...little parking....but a clean place to lay your head.”
The free Wi-Fi didn't work in our room. I had to walk about ten yards down the hallway in order to get a signal on my laptop. The people at the front desk said they would call the provider and see if they could have it fixed. It was never fixed and we were never offered an explanation or an apology. The parking lot is too small. If you want to park...better get your car in there early and never move it. The bar closed early while there were many people waiting to be served. The bartender gave everyone there one drink but said we had to take them back to our rooms. It's fine if you just want a quick clean place to sleep and nothing more.
“Toronto on Business”
The hotel accommodations were good. The beds were very comfortable and the staff was excellent. They were very attentive and met all of our needs from planning a city tour, serving tea at the bar and even providing a robe for me since the airline had delayed my baggage. The hotel is not located in the downtown area but it is one block away from the trolley stop. The hotel faces the lake and is across the street from a park, very beautiful.
“Ok Place, needs updating.”
OK place to stay. Close enough to downtown by car. The only real problem was the parking. Not nearly enough spaces. The bathroom needs to be remodeled or updated. Very old looking. The breakfast is way too expensive. The dinner menu is also very expensive.
“Not What I Expected”
The claim to have LAKE VIEWS is a bit of an exaggeration and it wasnt just my room (I was on the top floor and probably had the best view of the lake possible: it would be impossible for anyone at the hotel to have a decent view, the lake is just too far away and blocked by trees anyway! Breakfast was disappointing and of mediocre quality: not what I expected from a SHERATON brand hotel The car parking situation was a mess; way too many cars for available space. When I came to leave, my car was blocked in by a BMW and the bloke responsible was unable to move it because he was unable to drive a stick shift, so I had to move it for him! Not cool for a so-called Sheraton is it? However, the room was fine and the staff were pleasant and helpful.
