Excellent stay. Disappointed there wasn't self parking. The valet was expensive. The bed was hard and the pillows too soft. Maybe have a second set of firm pillows to help people sleep better.

The hotel was good but not at the price.

Posted Jun 22, 2015
Pros: Clean -- quiet
Location: Run-down with lots of street people.
Neighbourhood was terrible. The price that I think I paid was way over. Even the check in desk was shocked altough they hid it well. A pop up on my computer quoted $100 less. When things settle down, I'll get back to you.

Not worth the money

Over priced and in a poor area. The room was small and the beds were not comfortable.

Very good hotel with friendly staff

Posted Jun 17, 2015
Cons: Shower leaked water each day we took showers. Drain plug taken out by staff one day and not put back in. Rocking toilet needs to be fixed.
The Hilton Garden Inn in Toronto was a very good hotel and a good value for the money. All employees were friendly and greeted us when we walked by, even the chamber maids and maintenance people. The room was clean and neat, the bathroom was well maintained and did not look dingy or dirty. Bathrooms can become tired looking quickly when not maintained- but this one was fine- no broken tiles on the walls or floor. The only thing I noticed was that the toilet rocked a little bit, a little unsettling when using it! The shower did leak water every day. The shower curtain did not keep the water from spattering out, you had to adjust it just right to keep it from leaking. This could cause tile floor tiles to prematurely fail if not fixed. The A/C was set a little too low when we came into the room and we forgot adjust it before we went to bed and it was too cool in the room that first night, we adjusted it the next night and was fine.

Pros: It was easy walking distance to the subway, Mirvish theatre, the Eaton Centre, many great restaurants.
Cons: We were confused at first. The hotel address is Dundas Street but the hotel entrance is actually on Jarvis Street.
Location: Casey's restaurant in the hotel was a great place to stop for a late day drink. The Mutual Street Deli one block away is the best place for breakfast.
We stayed 3 nights. The room was large, quiet and adequately appointed. Our car was in valet parking and was quickly delivered to us whenever we needed it. Both Tim Hortons and Starbucks were a short walk away.

Hotel staff great- location SCARY

Posted Jun 10, 2015
Pros: The staff and the room were good
Cons: Security- hotel could work with the community to make sure their guests feel secure and safe. Parking should be lower price because of crime.
First the staff were great! The roads surrounding the hotel are terrifying. They charge 41.00 for parking because the lot across the street is so bad that they can force you to pay it for your own safety. For the price of the room I could have stayed three blocks away and feel much better about coming out of the hotel at 7pm.

Clean and comfortable

Just one night while visiting Toronto. Not a bad location, fairly close to most things. Guide in the room said the buffet breakfast was served until 11am, but they stopped serving at 10am

The area is scary, cars had smashed windows

Posted Jun 6, 2015
Pros: The bed was comfortable and the room looked nice.
Cons: higher quality sheets, ventilation in the bathroom improved.
Location: It was pretty close to downtown sights, but it was not a family friendly area, my 15 year old son was badgered by 2 homeless persons to give him money
The hotel was ok, for the price, the parking was expensive, but necessary. Very bad area and glad used the hotel parking, due to the fact that we saw cars with smashed windows in the morning in the lot across the street. The hotel sheets were synthetic, which was ok but just not as comfortable as cotton or cotton blend. There was a ventilation hole in the bathroom ceiling for a fan but there was not a switch so the bathroom was wet and the room smelled a bit wet and musty because of lack of ventilation. The hair dryer had seen better days. Anyway, was ok for the price.

requested a quiet room and I was undisturbed

Posted Jun 5, 2015
area is in process of development, there were a few people begging outside the hotel for the first few days, then mercifully then seemed to disappear for the next ten days. As a lone traveller I was disconcerted by their forthright approaches and persistence in asking for money each time i arrived or left. I felt safer once they had left. I felt comfortable in my room. A kettle was provided on request as the coffee making machine already in my room tainted the boiling water I needed for my teabags.
