Great location for walking around the city!
Posted Jan 16, 2013
Pros: The location!
Cons: The outside of the hotel - maybe a sign that says no loitering.
Location: Great location - centralized amongst shops and restaurants.
This hotel is ideal for people not planning to stay in the hotel room but rather to utilize it as a place to sleep. Room is comfortable however I could smell cigarette smoking from the other rooms even though I requested a nonsmoking room. Another downside was that there were a lot of people standing outside the hotel just loitering, smoking, and hanging out; and a lot of them were not even hotel Guests! The location is great for exploring the city. Lots of great restaurants and shops nearby. And the mall was only a few blocks away! All in all, it's a great place to stay if you're not looking for more than just a place to place your luggage and sleep.

Good price for right downtown
Posted Jan 16, 2013
It was a pretty typical mid grade hotel. Great price for a budget to be downtown Toronto.

An ordinary hotel in a superb location.
Posted Jan 13, 2013
When I made reservations, I asked for 2 communicating or adjacent rooms. I explained that my daughter needed us close by. We were assured of this. When we got to the hotel, I had to insist on 2 rooms on the same floor. The clerk finally , it seems after much hard work, find 2 rooms next to one another. The rooms are small but well organized. The carpets look old and dusty. The hotel is well situated, next door to Maple Leaf Gardens and close to the Eaton Center. On the first morning, we had breakfast in the hotel restaurant. It was expensive and very ordinary. The next day, we went to a nearby restaurant. I must commend the concierge who was helpful, friendly and patient with show tickets and restaurant reservations.

Elevator card reader problematic
Posted Jan 13, 2013
Only problem was card reader in elevator, did not work very well. Could only make it work once with my card. Fortunately other riders' cards worked about as well as mine and between all of us, one of us would get it to work eventually.

Small room, not a king size bed
Posted Jan 10, 2013
Pros: Clean, good staff
Cons: The room
Location: Very good for our purposes
Was supposed to be King as I believe confirmed by hotel to your agent. Turned out to be very small foom with I am not sure double or queen bed, certainly not King. Everything else about hotel was pretty good. I asked about bed size. The desk said that all handicapped rooms were the same. If we had known this ahead of time, we would probably have picked another hotel. The room was quite small with only a desk chair, no other chair for one of the two of us to sit in.

Downtown Toronto
Posted Jan 10, 2013
Pros: Convenience clean and reasonable price
Cons: Elevators
Location: We were there for a specific function at the Carlu which was very nearby
Good location if downtown is what you are looking for. Small room but very clean but elevators weren't working on Sunday about 11:00 when alot of people were trying to use them to check out so many people had to walk several flights with their luggage

Posted Jan 10, 2013
Location was perfect a couple of blocks from Dundas sqaure the front desk staff was very friendly, felt secure and safe...the hallways were very bright. Our room was perfect...updated, clean, well maintained and an average size for the room rate. Would definitely stay again...my new place to stay in Toronto!

Great location, staff, cleanliness, and fair price
Posted Jan 7, 2013
Pros: The staff were very nice, the hotel was quite clean, the price is good, and the location is superb.
Cons: The beds are a tad too hard for my 100% liking (albiet I like super soft beds, I know more firm is better for the back).
Location: Beside TTC College Station, next door to MLG, steps away from a landmark restaurant in T.O (Fran`s), and right beside Young St (the main street of TO)
The staff were very kind and helpful, the location of the Toronto Downtown location (Beside MLG) is superb (Breakfast at Frans Restaurant is always nice). However, yes the room was clean, but there were some chips in the wall (albeit small) in the room. As well, the beds were a little bit too hard for a GREAT sleep. But all in all, the prices, the location, the staff, and the cleanliness were great. This review is based only on MY preference. I like a VERY soft bed...the one here was firm (which I suppose is better for your back). I do recommend this hotel and have full intention of booking there again in the short future. http://youtu.be/cWk17dYsr3Q

Good location, typical 'city' size room.
Posted Jan 4, 2013
Pros: Location
Cons: Room size and condition.
Location: Walking distance from banks, pubs, restaurants, etc.
Great location in Downtown Toronto. Hotel lobby was very nice. Rooms were a bit smaller than other Holiday Inn hotels. Light was broken. A/C was broke or not working properly. Hotel was sold out when I stayed so the staff was a bit slow with requests. I think that had a lot to do with my overall experience there. Location is great though.

Great stay
Posted Jan 3, 2013
Pros: Location, cleanliness
Super clean and pleasant stay. The only frustrating part was the elevator strike issue, which apparently is causing a problem all over the city. Long lines for the elevator, thankfully I was only on the 7th floor. Great location, great Loblaws right next door, no complaints.
