“Horrible!”
I have seen the horrible Las Vegas hotels that are considered "cheap" and "dirty" such as Imperial Palace and I WOULD MUCH RATHER STAY AT THE IMPERIAL PALACE THAN TO EVER STAY IN THE HOWARD JOHNSON TORONTO WEST IN BRAMPTON, ONTARIO. Stay away!!!!! Take my advice.
“Not on the West side of Toronto”
The name of the hotel is Howard Johnson Toronto West. This couldn't be farther from the truth. It is 40 min from Toronto, so if you are looking for a hotel in Toronto like we were this is not the hotel for you!!! It is located in Brampton.
“Cheapest in the area and now I know why”
When we first got in the hotel and tried to check in the lady at the desk was a trainee which isn't a problem at all, however the other lady training her was kind of rude with her which made us uncofortable. The first room we got in was a mess, no light bulbs in any of the lamps, toilet was broke, air conditioner did not work, and the room just stunk. For their defense, they did move us to a different room in a differet floor, it wasn't much greater but thing worked in the new room. overall okay for the money, but no great at all.

“Worst hotel experience ever”
Neighborhood is bad, only one elevator that will pick you and trash and house keeping, very small breakfast area with poor selection you will see guests fighting for a table and food. Smoking floor spells smell all over the other floors. House keeping does not vaccum well. Ants between the sheets. Bathroom with rocking toilet and peeling wall paper. No wifi in room only in the lobby. Front desk staff does not communicate with each other so you ahve to keep repeating what you want to each shift. Book a slightly expensive place because it is worth it.
“Great for the price”
This hotel is conveniently located, easy getting around. Room was very clean and comfortable. The elevator stopped working on my 2nd day there so had to use the stairs, which is not very well taken care of. The staff at the front desk was very helpful and informative. The complimentary breakfast was also nice. Would definitely stay there if in the area again as it was reasonably priced.
“Do Not Stay Here!!!!”
When we arrived the place outside was aweful. The trash was over flowing and the whole area had garbage and weeds growing everywhere. Once we checked in found out no elevator which was not bad except we had to go 3 floors. The stairs had not been cleaned for a very long time. Coffe cups left there for so long the coffe evaporated. Our room had a she and blanket. no bed spread. the windows where dirty, the bathroom was aweful, toliet rocked back and forth. holes in wall. I will be posting pictures soon. Also the free breakfast was a loaf of bread and some coffe and a few dried out muffins. no juice or fruit unless you count the 3 oranges in bowl. They sent people downstairs to pay for breakfast. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
“As expected”
The Hotel was conveniently located for our daily drive into Toronto. Although there was road construction on the street where HOJO's was located it didn't interfere with our stay. The only complaint I had was that the wireless internet didn't work in the room but I was able to connect in the Lobby.
“Bad part of town?”
Whe I visited this hotel it was very hard to get in and out of the parking lot due to road construction in front of it. I didn't find the bed very comfortable. I went out for the evening and returned to a whole squad of police cars. A couple cops had some suspicious looking characters rounded up in the back parking lot talking with them and in the front another policeman was handling some tenants of the hotel. As I walked through the lobby I over heard the desk clerk on the phone telling someone they had 2 minutes to get out of the room before she sent the police up to get them. I made sure to use all the locks on the door that night. Also the toilet broke and would not flush that night or the next morning. Hotel was not 'dirty' per say, but had things like red stains on the lamp shades and holes in the wall where the bathroom door had been opened too hard. The hotel was not located close to many ammenities, unless you needed a payday loan. Overall I think the hotel is located in a less than desireable part of town, and I'm dissapointed at the room I got vs. the rate.
