“Just what we were looking for.”
The hotel offered old world service, decor, large bedrooms and baths and that was one of our priorities. Located on King street, the subway and the streetcar were within a block of the front door. The hotel also offers valet parking in an underground garage off site. Unfortunately for us, the lure of an open public lot immediately across the east lobby entrance, easily seen from our room window, for a few dollars less, swayed us to park there. Bad choice, as the second night the passanger side front window was smashed in. I had read on expedia's web site that this is a problem in Toronto and didn't stick with my plan. The hotel was a huge help, immediately extending our room check out time, helping us clean the broken glass, and providing us with tape, plastic, and scissors needed to cover the space. I certainly got the service from the hotel staff that I was looking for when I booked the room!
“Pleasantly surprised”
Wonderful
“Great Hotel, will certainly stay there again, It's Toronto's best!”
Great hotel overall. The rooms are huge, they have a nice retro feel. Service was wonderful and the location was outstanding, within walking distance of most everything.
“Would go back / recommend to friends”
Thoroughly enjoyable 5 nights at the King Eddie. Ideally located in downtown Toronto, easy access to shops, bars and theatres. Spacious rooms with good facilities. Lifts somewhat erratic, but fun all the same. Party of 3 "elderly" couples enjoyed the ambience and friendliness of the hotel and staff.
“Hospitality and then some!”
In addition to the great condition of the hotel, the staff was excellent, going beyond the call of duty to meet our every needs, from recommending restaurants to making arrangements for outside excursions. Moreover, the hotel was a central location, walking distance to all the major sites throughout Toronto. We would definitely go back. Barrington & Shawn were awesome--give those guys a raise!
“Expensive for room service etc, but worth it most of the time. Very friendly staff, good location”
Expnsive for room service but worth it most of the time. The staff was very friendly. Good location downtown Toronto. I would return without hesitation.
“Great Time in Toronto”
This hotel had everything you could ask for - history, service and general beauty. This is a great place to stay in Toronto offering easy, on foot access to all of the major sites and attractions. I would go back in a shot!!
“nice location , great service ...impeccable”
the hotel is located in a very centrical area if you wish to stay and work in the same Toronto area....the staff is very kind & helpful, it is a really magnificent old victorian building that is being renew years ago but with a fine taste ...this hotel is reaally impeccable!
“Very impressed with the hotel and staff.”
The King Edward really made it a special 50th birthday for my wife. The room was fantastic and the hotel arranged for complimentory access to the Royal Club Lounge for the duration of our visit. The staff could not have been more helpful and I would highly reccommend this hotel if visiting Toronto for a leisure break. The hotel is ideally situated for getting around the sites and shopping malls and the bus to Niagra will pick you up from the door. Thank you for a great holiday.
“Everything was great!”
This was one of the nicest hotel experiences my wife and I have ever had. The service, especially the concierge was wonderful.
