“Location, location, location”

A nice place, and a great location: within walking distance of museums, the entertainment district, the garment district, the Eaton Center, Chinatown, and many other great restaurants -- plus easy access to mass transit. This will be our first choice whenever we go to Toronto.

“motel in disguise”

here's all you need to know: the heat/air controls are in the unit at the window. the whole place feels like a cheap motel in disguise. sure, there's an elevator, and a nice lobby, a valey parking- but the rooms are like motel rooms. cheap towels, cheap soap, cheap everything. move on.

“Very comfortable with easy access and quick service at the counter”

I have stayed at this hotel 5-6 times in the past 10 years and have always left satisfied. Though this is not a full service hotel, my experience is that my needs are met quickly without having to stand in line at some of the full service hotels. There is also a very classy Chinese restaurant with innovative menu. Cost is a little steep but actually worth it.

“Good but nothing special”

Overall satisfactory. Nothing special. Room was nice but a bit dated for a contemporary hotel. Did not try the in house restaurant. The bar was very nice but a bit expensive. Great location!

“Overrated”

The staff was great and very helpful, which is the best thing I can say about the Metropolitan. The room was tiny, there wasn't enough closet or drawer space for clothing. The television looked like something out of the early '80's and the TV remote had all the number worn off of it. The furniture looked worn and dated as did the entire room. There was insufficient lighting through out the room, including the bathroom. Overall, this place is way overrated and seems to be much more impressed with itself than I was impressed with it. It did the job, but it certainly wasn't anything special.

Area recommendations
Stay in the downtown in Toronto. With a good pair of shoes you can walk to anywhere you'll want to go and see everything in the city.

“Great Location”

A few blocks for Dundus Square and Chinatown but everything is within walking distance. The CN Tower was about a 30 minute walk but easy to navigate through the downtown. Room was nice but receptionists were not all inviting and welcoming.

Area recommendations
Downtown in the Entertainment District
Family-friendly activities
I do recommend the Double Decker Bus Tour. It's two hours and lets you see a lot of the city. The best part is the hop on/hop off.

“convenience location to be at..”

There are so many good things about the hotel, but at the same time what bothering me the most is the internet connection.
