Seemingly nice hotel, unfortunate let-down

Posted Nov 16, 2014
Pros: The hotel is in a great location, the staff are great and so are the offered amenities. I had been at the hotel before (which was why I re-booked).
Cons: What is advertised is what should be given.
Location: Great, modern Irish pub just around the corner. Lively and great for a late night snack or a few drinks.
When booking the room it looked perfect. A nice King bed, windows that opened, a spacious room with a gorgeous bathroom and large tub (from pictures that were shown). We were supposed to be in the Premium Suite but when we got there, although newly upgraded, the room was smaller than expected, the windows did not open and were covered with boards due to exterior resurfacing. In addition the layout, bathroom and beds were not as advertised. The only thing that was consistent with the booking was the high ceilings. The room was dry, uncomfortable for sleeping in, and an unfortunate let-down.

Great Location for Conferences Downtown

Posted Nov 13, 2014
Pros: Location for me was key, it was close to Union Station and the Sony Centre. Also the kitchenette was a nice extra.
Cons: Very minor cleanliness issues, better signage would help with getting around inside and outside.
Location: Sony Centre for Performing Arts, Convention Centre, Union Station, shopping
The construction around downtown and refacing some buildings made it a bit confusing to actually find the hotel but overall it wasn't too bad. Finding your way around, the elevators and finding the lobby became a bit of a maze but again, wasn't so bad that it was a major inconvenience. The room itself was kind of a strange layout, but the kitchenette was a nice feature. I was in a corner room so the room was set up in a 'T' format with the hallway to the main hall branching into the kitchenette and the bed with the bathroom on the far side of the bed and the desk/office area on the far side of the kitchenette area. Overall the room was clean and tidy, I did notice a bit of grime in the bathroom sink but I just cleaned that myself before I used the sink. The comfort of the bed was great and I noticed no other issues. There were a couple plates and two sets of silverware which were very convenient for ordering in. I had to hunt a bit for the book of delivery services but there is one by the desk. It was very handy and although it isn't super fast(I ordered Dominoes, took 45min), they did delivery right to my hotel room door. I was on the 21st floor and my view wasn't great as it was of a generator on the roof beside the hotel, but I wasn't particularly staying in a room for the view anyway. If you were, you'd definitely want a room higher up. I liked the location of the hotel the best, close to the Sony Centre and Union Station. I walked everywhere. Overall a good experience.

The room was nice but noisy, could hear guests on either side flushing toilet. The air system was really noisy.

Downtown Toronto

Posted Nov 3, 2014
Pros: Modern
Cons: Room was dusty, parking expensive, internet not complimentary.
Location: Hockey Hall of Fame, Bars, Restaurants, Shopping, Site Seeing.
Conveniently located. Rooms were nice, but very small. Had to pay $40 for parking and $10 for internet. You would think that in this day and age internet would be complimentary. The staff was accommodating, though. They allowed us to leave our car parked there after we checked out to go to the Hockey Hall of Fame (I would hope so, at least, for the amount of money we paid for parking).
