“Total Rip Off Dump”

$3/ minute to call the US when the actual cost is about 12 cents/min. Small rooms, crappy breakfast.

“Great and convenient”

“staff was not so friendly”

This hotel was clean and located near the subway and train station. I was unhappy with the staff and service. The women who were cleaning nearby rooms were very loud both in the hallway in front of my room, and in the rooms nearby. I hate to The desk clerk seemed very annoyed when I asked her if she could call me a cab, and questioned me twice about being a hotel guest. I ordered room service for breakfast and the food and coffee were cold and from the buffet downstairs. Not a horrible experience- but not a great experience.

“Awesome Location”

i stayed here for 3 nights. This hotel is great for the price) The rooms are small, but decorated nicely so it looks nice. The location is great for sight seeing Toronto (CN tower a couple of blocks, next to the Union station, the market place and you can walk to the entertainment district and china town). The staff were very nice and overall I would go back here again.

Getting around

Don't waste money on taxis, Toronto has really good/clean transportation system (Its not like NYC where you can easily get lost in all the train lines) and depending where you want to go things are very close. I would suggest just bringing a pair of sneakers and walking the city, its truly beautiful specially during Autumn. The people are also very friendly.

“Nice renovation for a good price”

Great beds, great staff, awesome location. A bit concerned with the condition of the elevators - they need updated controls or a complete overhaul as they were not reliable... Also a bit of hallway noise that could be easily solved with weather stripping the doors...BUT, all in all, it is a good deal. For an extended stay, there is not a microwave or refrigerator, but if you don't mind eating out at a variety of wonderful restaurants nearby, it isn't a problem.

Area recommendations

Entertainment district is right down the street, as is shopping, easy access to Union Station and the Convention Center, and the Hockey Hall of Fame. Location is really ideal.

Dining

Check out Marche and Ki, both located one block east of the hotel. Marche has great variety of fresh food, and Ki is excellent sushi and sashimi.

“Would never go back with a car, parking is very expensive”

This is a nice place and very reasonable for downtown. I would never attempt to take a car next time, the traffic is horrendous and the parking is very expensive on the weekdays, weekends are not so bad.

“Not impressed”

Our room with a double bed was very tiny with uncomfortable chairs and a makeshift bench; if you like to read in bed you're out of luck, the lights are very dim. otherwise there are the basic amenities - a small TV set, ironing board, hair dryer,etc. if you want Internet connection you have to pay an extra $30; parking is also additional. i needed to work out or do yoga but there's no exercise room. i was directed to a gym next door but it costs quite a bit to use the facilities. breakfast is not included and the hotel's buffet breakfast is pricey. So you're not really getting a bargain here. but the hotel is conveniently located- within walking distance to Union Station, Chinatown, & attractions like the Niagara Falls, the CN Tower and even the Harborfront...

Area recommendations

Downtown Toronto - it is clean, colorful. close to the Falls and many tourist activities, like fine dining, casino, shopping, sightseeing.

Getting around

Must see: The Niagara Falls, the mineral and gem collection at the Royal Ontario Museum, Casa Loma, which has a wonderful cafeteria, Marche Restaurant in the Financial District.

“Great location - small room - good price.”

The hotel was very nice, clean and in the best location possible. There just seemed to be so many fee's added that the great deal was just the normal price.
