Rude rude rude.

Posted Jan 26, 2015
I have stayed at this hotel in the past and was able to use my debit card to put a $300 damage deposit down in place of using a credit card when I checks in. I even called ahead to make sure I would be able to do this again, as it was a big hassle getting everything sorted out when I stayed last March. I was told on arrival that 'Super 8s policy is to only accept credit cards on the weekends' - had I known this when I called, I would have made funds available. The man working at the front desk refused to escalate my issue (he told me there was no manager to speak to on a Saturday night) and actually told me that the best answer to my problem would be to cancel my reservation and stay somewhere else. If I had the time and patience to book elsewhere, I would have. Last stay I'll be booking at the Super 8 which is a shame - great location and clean spacious rooms, but I won't give my money to a company that doesn't want or value my business.

Reasonable rates, great location

Posted Dec 27, 2014
Pros: Great location, friendly staff, reasonable rates, easy access off the highway - been staying here when I'm in town for years.
Location: The Horseshoe Tavern and Cameron House are each a block away - great music. Lots of places to eat around, and lots of shops.
You can't beat the location if you're in town to hit the Queen St. music venues. Nothing fancy here, but easy to get to, good parking rates, clean and comfortable. Got upgraded to a suite this time - nice surprise.

It served it purpose I guess......

Posted Dec 20, 2014
Pros: That is was near the Christmas party I went to.
Cons: Perhaps a fan in the room or just air circulation.....
Was staying there for the first time as I needed to be close to a work function in town. So it served it purpose. But getting through the maze of the hotel was not friendly once the mall closed. The room itself was fine, but no air circulation. I could not sleep.

ConvenientI

Posted Nov 22, 2014
Pros: Location and size of room.
Hotel is in a convenient location. There is lots of shopping and restaurants within easy walking distance and it has great access to public transit. The room was large and the bed was comfortable enough. Everything is a bit spartan but, for a one-night stay, it was fine and the price was excellent.

Good value

We were looking for accommodation that was clean and affordable. The staff is welcoming and efficient. The room was very spacious and well appointed. Outside noise can be a bit of an issue. The breakfast selection was good.

Mall Hotel

Posted Nov 17, 2014
Pros: The staff were very knowledgeable and polite. They made the visit a lot of fun.
Cons: Signs on the street or on the website with more directions.
Location: Public transit is very convenient. The Art Gallery of Ontario, The Royal Ontario Museum, shopping, Ripley's Aquarium, Rogers Center were all close
Super 8 certainly makes creative use of a mall space. Once we got the hang of the garage we were fine. Finding the entrance was the challenge. Perhaps more signs would help.

Poor customer service

Posted Nov 16, 2014
Between the two rooms we booked, there was very little sleep due to domestic dispute in hallways. Loud, violent, profanity. After 3 calls to front desk all the way to 4am, it finally subsided. Manager claims that was not a customer service issue- who else should deal w that? Should have been police.
