Nice hotel right beside UnionPosted May 18, 2015
- didn't want to room with a dozen friends so I booked while in like for the club (came to Toronto for bday party tings) - room got upgrades from one king bed to a newly renovated Room with two doubles. - I wanted a king bed but I enjoyed the luxury of the upgrade Albeit with a smaller, but super comfy nonetheless, bed - lobby was beautiful and service was great. - would stay again!

Front desk was super attentive to my needsPosted May 15, 2015
The woman at the front desk made my day. The airline lost my bags and the hotel did a really great job of making feel appreciated when the airline did not. They gave me an overnight necessities back (slippers, toothbrush, toothpaste, razor, shaving cream, free upgrade and free wifi) really went out of her way to make me feel valued. Was my first visit, and I will be back.

Stately but staid.Posted May 12, 2015
Pros: Location, lobby ambience
This hotel has been an icon of downtown Toronto for ever and it has done its best to modernize with time, but it seems to be limited by the bones it has to work with. I received an upgrade to one of their "newly renovated" Fairmont rooms with a king bed and it was bright and fresh inside. However the nice new shower had almost zero hot water pressure, so you could only make the most of it if you wanted a cold shower. And the updated heating / cooling system, while easy to adjust, didn't feel any different at 18.5C (the lowest it would go to) and 22C. The windows don't open, so that was not an option. I will say that the rate was good and the location excellent so it served my purposes. Just don't expect modern luxury.

Small, outdated bathroom, wifi extraPosted May 11, 2015
Pros: Exterior and interior design. Quick checkout option
Cons: Free wifi
Location: good location, very central
Nice hotel and nice rooms. Bathroom outdated within room. Surcharge for wifi... seems a little absurd in this day and age...

In the Heart of TorontoPosted May 11, 2015
Pros: The age
Location: Right next door to Union Staion, a few blocks from Rogers Centre, CN Tower, and Ripley's Aquarium.
Beautiful hotel in the centre of downtown Toronto. Close to all you need to do in the Toronto core.

Beautiful weekend awayPosted May 11, 2015
This hotel was perfect for our anniversary weekend. As someone who usually stays at holiday Inn or Best Western type hotels, The Fairmont was a lovely treat. If you want to go for the full luxury treatment I suggest the Gold Floor. It's well worth the extra money. You have a private check in desk, and lounge that offers free food 4 times a day and unlimited tea, coffee and cold beverages. The decor is elegant and fitting with the history of the building. There is even 2 dedicated elevators to go to the Gold floor and executive floors. The rooms are not large but are beautifully decorated and every detail is addressed. If you do not want to fight the downtown traffic, the Go Train is a perfect option; just walk across the street to the hotel.
