Very nice hotel located within walking distance of

Posted Jan 27, 2015
Pros: Very clean and well kept. Friendly staff and very helpful.
Cons: Nothing of note.
Location: Walking distance to many restaurants, Tim's is very close. Cinemas are 5 minutes and downtown, Rogers Center and the ACC about 20 minutes walk.
Staff were more than helpful and pleasant. Buffet breakfast was great along with the pool and hot tub. No problem staying again.

amazing and very accommodating

Posted Jan 27, 2015
Pros: The Bellmen were very professional, friendly and had a way of making you feel welcome. My husband loved that you actually got a real key to your room
Location: Location was a 10 minute was away from the Eaton Centre. Not a bad walk during the day, but a little sketchy at night.
Hotel staff was amazing! We travelled to Toronto for a medical appointment and consequently spent a lot of time in our room. The room had a kitchenette which was a godsend. It was stocked with tea, coffee, cups, plates, utensils, etc. Our breakfast which was included with our booking was more than adequate. It had everything you could want, but the eggs weren't great. We had dinner there a couple of times, and it was fabulous! The hotel also has complimentary transportation on a first come first serve basis. We were able to take advantage of this several times.

Doesn't Quite Match it's Own Hype

Posted Jan 26, 2015
Pros: Good location, cooperative staff.
Cons: Faster wifi, and more care with breakfast.
Location: 10 min walk straight south to the St. Lawrence Market and a short walk west to the Eaton Centre.
It's a good thing we didn't have particular expectations for the Grand Hotel. On reading the hotel's own hyped services and room ameties, however, its clear that more of a reality check is in order. The vaunted suite concept, free breakfasts, two tvs in every room, free wifi etc are probably a main reason the hotel was completely full during our stay. For those who might be tempted by the hotel's enthusiastic advertising, keep in mind that the breakfast was mediocre at best (very dry eggs the first day, dry and cold eggs the second), the wifi is the slowest I've encountered in years, and the room tvs are very small. The kitchen fit out was also about as bare as possible - no kettle, no wine glasses, and nothing else beyond two slim settings. There was no way to wash them afterwards, as the sparcel kitchen set-up didnt include dish soap or a plug for the sink. Our bathroom door didn't fully close, and the room was hot and stuffy even after turning the heat off and opening the two small windows as wide as possible for our stay. On the plus side, it's well situated close to the Eaton Centre, had a nice southern view to the lake, the price was reasonable and the staff were courteous and attentive. In short, a mixed experience. By all means stay here if you can't find a better arrangement, but don't take the hotel's advertising too seriously.

Weekend in Downtown Toronto.

Posted Jan 26, 2015
Great location and lots of amenities in this hotel. The staff were extremely helpful and polite. We arrived early before check in and they gave us keys to the facilities to freshen up. The complimentary breakfast buffet was excellent. The location is only 2 blocks from a major subway station and right next to a street car stop. I would stay again for sure. Comfy and clean rooms. Only negative is that our toilet would stick and continue to run from time to time and the water pressure was low. Overall worth the money.

The location was excellent and it was comfortable.

Posted Jan 26, 2015
Cons: Coffee pot did not work and only one bedside table.
The valets were the nicest! The staff on the desk could use some 'people skills'. Breakfast was very good and we loved the pool!

Greater one-nighter for business near Ryerson

Posted Jan 24, 2015
Pros: - The staff is excellent - friendly and helpful. - Look and feel (Well maintained and renovated) - Location for my purposes.
Cons: As mentioned above: OJ & coffee.
Location: Near Ryerson University and walking distance to Eaton Center, Dundas square and may restaurants. Close to Regent Park, which is gentrifying so okay.
Generally excellent.. Old hotel so breaker acted up when I shut the closet door! I lost power to half of my room & bathroom as I was about to go to sleep.. Staff came and knew right away how to fix.. Fortunately.. Free breakfast buffet apparently implies watered-down OJ and weak coffee (So I had to buy some on my way to my meeting), but is otherwise fine.

Dejligt hotel

Centralt. God pool.

Posted Jan 21, 2015
