The staff was more than helpful. The hotel was beautiful and the room was bright, large and very clean. I was a little disappointed that there was no coffee in the room. You can order it but sometimes who wants someone at their door at 7 am and having to sign for coffee. The location was great and room service was good. I did order room service and then cancelled one of the items but was still billed for it so watch what you are singing for. The roof top bar and pool are spectacular...what a view. I would not hesitate to book this hotel again.

contemporary, sexy, noisy with attitudePosted May 21, 2012
Pros: all windows, nice views, nice contemporary airy feeling
Cons: needs espresso machine, needs more toiletries, and wireless signal was almost non-exisitent
Location: love the location
in general the hotel is really noisy, due to partiers because doors, walls , are not sound-proof enough, there is a big gap under the doors so you can hear everything until 4am! lobby lounge chairs and floor are very run down. service, staff are slow, and arrogant with too much attitude. Other than that rooms are great with all windows, and beautiful frosted glass, contemporary, and very comfortable.

Fantastic hotel with fantastic value!Posted Nov 9, 2011
Location: King street west
I travel a lot and tend to stay at five star resorts like Wynn, W, Ritz Carlton's etc. the Thompson is perfect for a fantastic party weekend. From the happening lobby bar to Rooftop lounge to basement disco. It even has a 24 hour diner for post party hunger. The service is fantastic and I can't wait to go back! It's a one stop shopping for the 30-50 year old party afficionado.

ALthough the hotel was lovely....Posted Sep 27, 2011
Our room was lovely and modern. We were disappointed only in the smell of the room. It was like a cigarettes/smoke smell. We aren't sure why we had this smell in our room We were on the fifth floor at the end of the hall...can't remember room number at the moment. We didn't complain...but should have I guess...but the hotel needs to know. Perhaps it was unique to that day...???

Almost there...Posted Aug 4, 2010
This is a beautiful hotel and the location could not have been better! The rooftop pool, while small, is lovely and didn't seem to be too crowded on either of the days we used it. We got a great rate for the hotel and were aware of the fact that it had just opened so we weren't surprised that there were still a few kinks they had to work out. The concierge services weren't quite up to snuff (for example, when I asked about spa services in the area they didn't have many options to offer). The maid service was inconsistent. We stayed at the hotel for 4 days and never once received refills on our soaps and shampoos. The hotel was very beautiful and the room very comfortable. It was also in a great location near lots of restaurants and bars. I would definitely go back to the hotel in a few months once they've had time to bring their services up to Thompson standards.

If you're under the age of 25 and haven't experienced the finer things in life, you'll like it. But if you're 25 or older, been there and done that, you won't be at all impressed.
