West end hotel close to the airport

Posted Jul 29, 2015
Pros: Not really too much
Cons: Change the room televisions to LCD's
Location: Located in the far upper west end , travel to most of Toronto's main tourist attractions is an arduous task unless you have a car .
Upon entering the property, you get the first impression that maintenance on the premises has been given a low priority. The reception desk looked cluttered with nothing more than a desktop computer and open file cabinet with key card validation swiper. The room I was assigned had the room A/C turned off in favor of the unit fan, was for the first night, extremely unbearable with the temperature being close to 80 degrees. Luckily, I was able to manually activate the unit compressor after much trial and error, which brought the room down to a more comfortable 68F. The tub faucet was faulty which meant you had to turn the control all the way to the end to get any kind of water pressure. The room TV was 1990's vintage, with the local cable channel grid completely mixed up. Overall, a less than satisfying experience. Room condition was only fair to say the very least.

Close to 401 Great Rates

Posted Jul 28, 2015
Pros: Rooms were clean, Rates were good, pool area was quiet
Cons: Air condition the hallways....post directions to pool area, provide towels in pool area with having to ask...offer a dine in dinner discount
Was in town for day surgery, just looking for place to sleep. Found the staff confused (could not find our reservation), was not given any information re:amenities at hotel-no information in the room. Whirlpool was taped off-no explanation, no towels in pool area, food at in-house restaurant was terrible/dry...appetizer served with entree, hall ways were not air conditioned-very hot....cleaning staff were very rude when we asked for directions to the pool area (no posted signs)...got a phone call at 1am saying we had a guest in the lobby...was definitely NOT our guest, but woke us all up. Had to leave shortly after 7am for hospital...were given vouchers for breakfast, was told we could take it out...only to find out that we could not...so did not get complimentary breakfast. We had booked two double beds for three of us...only to be asked if we wanted one bed or two-a little insulting and insinuating. Room worked for us..good rates and close to 401, but would never go there for vacation stay !

First of all, I didn't know I had to call for the shuttle, when I did call after sitting for 45 minutes I had to wait an additional 30 minutes. Checking in was fine, the beds were uncomfortable, bathroom tiny, the wifi signal sucked, when asked the night shift employee on duty about it he shook it off then proceeded to tell me walk across the street to 7 11 and get a phone card or download the magic jack app so I can make calls and this is after explaining to him that I am not able to get wifi signal in the room and throughout most of the hotel and in the loddy. So words were exchanged and I checked out the following morning.

Pros: The staff (from front desk to house keeping) are very friendly and helpful. The bedding was clean even though the mattress was old.
Cons: Replace all the carpeting in the rooms and halls
Location: The location was convenient for our needs
The photos of this hotel are out dated and provide a false impression of it. the hotel is really dated and in need of a great amount of TLC. the carpets a old, dated and stained with dust around the edges. The windows are filthy and have no screens. The washroom was dated but clean. The pool was clean. As a business traveler I stay in a lot of hotels and avoid ones like this. Especially if my wife is with me. Not returning.

Terrible condition.

Posted Jul 10, 2015
Looked forward to using the hot tub and sauna but both weren't working. The halls were dirty, in poor condition and smelt of gas or oil. Room was in poor shape as well. The carpets needed changing, the latch was falling off the door and don't get me started about the shower.

never again

Pros: free parking
Location: close to bus station
the toilet did not flush, they rooms are so not even close to sound proof, can hear people talking everywhere, the hot tub was broken, no towels at the pool, no chairs at the pool to watch kids when swimming, free breakfast was cold french toast, toast, croissants or stale cereal. Only one ice machine and staff did not even know where it was! had to walk around the hotel to find it, carpets in room were stained, no door sign to hang for "do not disturb" neighborhood felt very unsafe and run down

Handy Location

Posted Jun 24, 2015
Pros: For our purposes - the location.
Cons: There could be ice machines on every floor, instead of just the ground floor.
Location: Sheradin Mall is on the corner of Jane & Wilson Sts. A Shoppers Drug Mart & grocery store are in a strip mall across the street.
We stay at this hotel quite often. It is near our son's house, across the street from a shopping mall, and near the intersection of highways 401 & 400. We have always been treated very courteously by the staff and are recognized when we return.
