There aren't many choices in Torrey, UT and Red Sands appeared to be one of the better options. The photographs online were apparently not recent, and my impression of the hotel is that it could use some updating, but overall, it was adequate. The beds were comfortable, and the staff were courteous and helpful. It was somewhat disappointing that breakfast was not complimentary, however, there is a restaurant on site in which one can order breakfast.

Water pressure is shower was weak, to go utensils were the cheapest you can buy. Made eating my expensive take out food. Very difficult to eat, bed was very comfortable

It is a nice hotel perfectly located next to Capitol reef park - my frustration was based on the fact that there was a steam room listed in the amenities of the hotel, but in reality steam room is only a part of SPA and an extra pay by appointment. Otherwise everything is good

Place looks old inside. Roadside rooms have a lot of traffic noise with view of the road and traffic. Nice and friendly staff. Restaurant at the hotel is not great.

Nice, clean hotel. Room was large, well furnished, and well equipped. The only negative was the restaurant where the service was terrible. Took 15 minutes to be seated and then another 15 minutes before a server came by. That server spoke little English and never returned. Also a very limited menu.

An average hotel in an otherwise great location outside Capital Reed national park. No free breakfast like most other similar hotels. WiFi is painfully slow (300kb per sec per fast.com).

Property stands out for service, cleanliness and friendliness especially considering where in Utah it is located. Everything “worked” in the room including fridge, shower, toilet and HVAC. Staff was professional but still friendly. Second time I’ve stayed there and have not been disappointed.

Comfortable hotel near capital reef park with nice amenities. We really appreciated Daltons excellent service and care while we were there. The 24 hour coffee/tea bar are a plus as was the horse in the back. There is a nice balcony on the second floor where you can see the sky at night if the weather allows. Would definitely stay here again.

There isn’t a lot of choice in Torrey, but the glowing reviews lead me to think this was doing to be an amazing experience. Go to Torrey for the magnificent scenery . The hotel is okay. The staff isn’t really well trained but that’s the owner’s responsibility. The laundry wasn’t working we needed. The breakfast was not good. The hallway was were noisy until late and I think they shoved everyone (not that many people staying) into the same corridor. The spa was ridiculously expensive, so didn’t do that. Sorry, I understand many people enjoyed it. The bed was comfortable. And we enjoyed our stay because it’s so beautiful at the Capital Reef Park.

This was our first time in Torrey - visiting Capital Reef. We stayed in night - covering all 5 of Utah’s national parks on this trip. The Red Sands Hotel was great! The staff was very attentive and friendly. The location was great. The only issues we had were that the hot water tank breaker popped over night, so our showers were cool. And the rollaway bed mattress left a lot to be desired. But we would definitely give them another try next time we might come to Torrey. The room was great, the bathroom amenities were great, and we had a great overall experience despite a couple of hiccups.

My family and I stayed for only a night, but it was such a peaceful, tranquil place to recharge before our big hiking day at capitol reef. The beds were super comfortable! The location is also so convenient. We were only a short drive to the national park visitor center and our first hike of the morning.

Overall the hotel and room was clean and comfortable and the staff was friendly. The room was quite expensive compared to other hotels in the area when I stayed and I didn't feel like it was worth what I paid for it. The connected restaurant was also quite pricey.

Our hotel has a more amenities that others do not, including a indoor pool and hot tub, 24 hour coffee in the lobby, a work out room, guest laundry, bar, restaurant, spa and self use of the yoga room.

The staff were friendly, helpful, accommodating. It was very welcoming to have 24 hour access to iced water, coffee bar, hot chocolate, fruit and oatmeal. Two reasons I could not give 5 stars , first the thin walls, we could hear the people upstairs talking. Second, one of the windows in the room was fogged blocking the view of the beautiful view.

Red Sands Hotel was awesome! Although it's an older hotel, it's very clean and well maintained. I love the location - secluded enough to really enjoy Torrey, yet the restaurant/ bar downstairs and a nearby coffee shop (Wild Rabbit) allowed for my winter stay to be quiet and relaxing. The staff was very welcoming and kind. The ambiance of the entire hotel was awesome. I'll definitely visit again!

Great Hotel with Friendly Staff
Very nice hotel with spacious and clean rooms. The hotel offers spa, pool, jacuzzi, outside fire place, telescope service, … Very friendly and helpful staff. Really nothing we didn’t like. The hotel also has a nice backyard with excellent views. And the hotel is located in an excellent vacation location!

I would go back for sure.
Every person we interacted with was awesome from the front desk to the waitress at the restaurant. My only tip would be to avoid the food at the restaurant it's really disgusting. For 15 bucks a plate I guess we expected average food, but it was vile. Soggy bun, boiled unseasoned chicken, coleslaw and corn I couldn't even stomach from the smell. It was worse than almost anything I can remember ever getting in my life and I'm 35.The people were really nice I would definitely go back, but I wouldn't spend money at the restaurant.
