Arrived about 7:30 pm after exhausting flight with long layover, GPS took us right to an old building with intimidating looking gate. Inn keeper was waiting with friendly lab puppy, room was huge with brand new bathroom and gorgeous antiques, comfortable king four poster bed.
She recommended a great restaurant 15 minutes away in Grenade. The included Breakfast was excellent and homemade, yoghurt, 6 kinds of local jam, bread, croissants, cake, milk, juice cereal, coffee. She gave us a map of the area with a tour book for our drive in the countryside the next day, and beer out of her fridge to drink in the pool and hot tub when we came back. Home made foie gras and roast lamb for dinner a reasonable $22 euros, including wine, four course meal, coffee. Best bargain of our two week trip to France, very homey and wonderful setting.

We stayed just the one night and only wanted a comfortable bed preferring to dine out in town. The hotel was perfectly placed for the old part of Toulouse. The staff were delightful. They also have secure parking which, as we had been touring in a hire car and were on our way to the airport the following day was perfect.
Not the cheapest hotel in town but given the location and the quality of the room this was good value for money.

Impressed by reviews. The Lofts lived up to expectations. Airy, spacious, smart, clean, fantastic views. Not sure I would recommend it for families [the open plan bedroom space is too communal] but excellent for young professionals or retired couples wanting to see the sights of Toulouse. The apartment felt like a cross between hotel and self-catering. All the comforts of a hotel - clean towels, linen, soap etc and all the privacy and freedom of a self catering place. The space has been very well thought out - pleasing to the eye but fully functional. Equipment provided all in good working order.

"Great value with free parking and helpful service"
This hotel is a little bit of a walk from the main centre and pedestrian areas of Toulouse, but offers free parking (undercover & outside), very comfortable rooms and friendly, helpful service. We didn't take the breakfast so can't comment on that but there is a little cafe a short walk away with a breakfast deal. The room at the front of the building was well decorated, the bed very comfy and clean. A great shower in the bathroom with hot water at all times. There's a park by the river located across the road and through a residential area (approx 5-10 min walk) and to get into the centre is approx 15-20 mins walk via Pont Neuf.

There's a lot to like about the Hotel Héliot. It's just few blocks from the train station, Place Wilson, and the the old city. Our room was big by French city standards, the bed was comfortable, and the big windows let in lots of light and kept out the street noise (it's on a quiet, one-way street). The clientele is international--French and English-speaking on our visit. But the star of the show is Frédéric, the owner and host. He welcomed us like old friends, took our bags to our room on the rhird floor (there's no eleavator), suggested a city tour and a restsurant, served us breakfast, and he speaks fluent English. Frédéric est fantastique.
So is the Héliot.
