Not a bad hotel for the pricePosted Aug 18, 2014
The hotel has new owners recently, but still needs updates. Our room was nice, but the pillows were horrible. And there was mildew in the shower still that should not have been there. I would not say not to stay there, but it could have been better for sure.

Great hotel for the price.Posted Aug 15, 2014
We spend a few days in Traverse City every summer. We're always looking for a cheaper hotel, since we'd rather spend our money on other things in Traverse. This definitely isn't the fanciest hotel in the area, but the price reflects that. The price is one of the cheapest in the area. The room was big and spacious. It was clean and adequate for our stay. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Great location, and we would definitely stay there again.

Hotel showing its agePosted Aug 11, 2014
Pros: The staff people I interacted with were invariably friendly, efficient, and helpful. And compared to other hotels in the area, it was a bargain.
Cons: This hotel does not aspire to greatness, but it is in need of a complete makeover and update. Time for new carpets, fresh paint, and updated fixtures.
Location: The Traverse City area offers a great range of natural and cultural attractions. What a beautiful place during that short northern Michigan summer!
We stayed at Boarders Inn for a long weekend in Traverse City. It provided a place for our belongings and for sleeping but little else. Fortunately, we were much more interested in the many great activities in the area, including dining downtown and the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Park. The staff at the hotel was great, but the aura of dinginess was everywhere. Our room had a funky odor and many carpet stains. We were also unfortunately placed a room with that was literally five feet from the very popular ice machine.

MediocrePosted Aug 9, 2014
Hotel is in a good location. Our room was not vaccumed our whole 5 day stay. Our sheets were also not changed because of a bag that was on the bed, hotel policy is to not touch patrons belongings so I had to change my own sheets on vacation. Also, if you are traveling with pets they have a policy about not leaving pets unattended at any time. This made getting meals very difficult!

Nice hotel away from the main part of T CityPosted Aug 2, 2014
Pros: The price was good compared to several others in area.
Cons: Everything was ok
Location: Not a bad drive to visit family in Glen Arbor. The drive by Traverse Bay is beautiful! The Film Festival was in town. Good variety of restaurants ne
Staff was friendly, guy at the desk gave us great directions to Glen Arbor. Fairly quiet, decent continental breakfast, maybe could have added bagels.

You get what you pay forPosted Jul 30, 2014
Cons: Noise reduction from road. LOUD
Location: Good location to downtown although West Bay is better.
This was the least expensive option with a king bed in the area. Pretty much sums it up. We're not big on fancy places to sleep - just the basics. This didn't meet the basic requirements though. Our room was close to the road and every time a truck went by the whole room rattled - shook the bed - literally. Guess we saved on quarters. Room was ok. Noisy - windows were ineffective at keeping noise out. Heard the guy next door snoring. No sound seal on the door - could see lot of light to the hallway all around the door. Loud A/C. Reasonably clean I guess - except for the elevator carpet which was pretty disgusting. "Business Center" was out of order - computer on a desk in the hallway in front of the elevators. I'd rather pay an extra $25 a night and get something better.

Very Old and WornPosted Jul 28, 2014
Pros: The Staff
Cons: Needs total make over.
Location: Travese City has tons to do and this hotel is on the main strip about 10 minutes from downtown.
This hotel is very worn and old. Bathroon tile chipped and mildew stained. Bed was very lumpy. Carpet on floors old, stained and worn. Needs a major facelift. On the plus side, the staff was very very nice and did all they could to accomodate.
