family visit

Posted Mar 3, 2015 on Hotels
My sister and I needed a hotel close to family gathering. Wanted something just to sleep and shower. This fit the bill at only $60.00 per night. The hotel is old and needs fixing up but it was clean, comfy and NO bugs. The staff fixed what was wrong on the spot and were very very friendly. Did not use the breakfast so cannot comment on theat. Would stay again at this price and location.

It's OK..... I guess

Posted Feb 20, 2015 on Hotels
I suppose I can't say we were disappointed- because what can you expect from Econo Lodge? Rooms need updating- especially the blankets, entry lightbulb was out in our room, and the bathrooms are uncomfortably small (the sink is in the room). In terms of location, I don't know what we were thinking- 6 miles outside of Traverse City doesn't sound like much I guess, but it removes the option of walking to anything. There were comparable rates much closer to town, we should have booked there- don't know why rates were as high here as they were (not that it was actually high). There were a number of snowmobilers, so maybe it's a hotspot for that. Continental breakfast is what you would expect from a low cost hotel chain- foodstuff.

The pool was cold and the breakfast could have been better. However, we were overall pleased

Traverse City Econolodge

Posted Nov 4, 2014
Pros: Location was OK.
Cons: Most things - see experience above.
Location: Was there for business, not pleasure.
The Econolodge was below standard. One chair was about to fall apart, one mattress was off its frame, the sink had no drain plug, there was no iron in the room, etc. The room was clean and the beds were OK. The wakeup calls on both days we stayed there were both nearly exactly 20 minutes late.
