Tre`s bien situé et personnel souriant et de bon conseil. Pas facile à trouver , sans GPS . Mais endroit paradisiaque et super-tranquille, loin des foules et du bruit . Vue merveilleuse sur la baie de Naples et le Vésuve.

Great Hotel Near Pompeii and Naples

Posted Jan 9, 2015
Pros: What is not to like! Just excellent in every regard. If you are a swimmer or sunbather, the pool is splendiferous.
Cons: I would not change a thing.
Location: Pompeii, Amalfi Coast, Sorrento and (by train) Naples. If you go to Naples, be certain of visit the Antiquities Museum.
The Palazzo is a pure delight. The hotel is immaculately clean; the staff is friendly and helpful; the views are the stuff guidebooks are made of. The one issue is getting there. We drove and that is the very best way to get there. We used our GPS--well worth the $60 dollars extra--and arrived with no problems; the one recommendation we would make in that regard is to program your GPS to avoid going through Naples. Driving in Naples is a combination of destruction derby and dodge ball, not for drivers inexperienced in piloting a car through Italian cities! However, if you are using the train, you will have to arrange for pick-up by the hotel. They can help with that, but it will cost ca. $90 to get from Naples to the hotel. Beyond that, the Palazzo was everything we had hoped for. It is in a quiet neighborhood, but reasonably close to the downtown area. You can eat at the hotel--breakfast is a typical European buffet-style event and Giovani will make certain your dining room experience in the evening is just excellent. However, we recommend venturing into the nearby town and exploring the many ristorantes and trattorias. If you are going to Pompeii and have a car, the route is easy. If you are going by train, the Palazzo staff will help you. Also driving to the Almalfi Coast and Sorrento is not a problem. The drivers in those places seem to have forgotten their Italian racing heritage. So, Buon Viaggio!

Alla richiesta di aumentare la temperatura in camera, mi è stato detto che l'impiando di aria condizionata non funzionava e per questo mi hanno recapitato una coperta aggiuntiva del tipo militare.

Very nice hotel, very nice location but ...

Posted Nov 13, 2014
Hotel is nice, very nice view to the mountain but because it is far from local restaurants we were stuck to stay in the hotel for dinner most of the time while the Menu was limited and the price was unreasonably high . The hotel is being used for wedding parties and when one afternoon we asked for a cup of tea and piece of cake , we were served the leftover wedding cake with the candle holes in it and we were surprised when they charged us £5.00 for every small piece of leftover cake. The respond was that it is 4star hotel ! While breakfast was also very limited and not a 4 star hotel breakfast . In general the hotel's atmospher and location was the best and we should also mention the kindness of staff in reception and dining area.

Magnifique paysage , bel hôtel, personnel attentif

Posted Oct 28, 2014

I would go again even just for the view

A lovely place with magnificent views. A place to stay if you are having a car, but without car quite time consuming to get to and from the hotel by foot and train. Very service-minded staff and all in all very pleasurable.

Touch of luxury on the edge of Vesuvius

Posted Oct 12, 2014 on Hotels.com
What a great place this was! We wanted a hotel that was convenient for Pompeii and Herculaneum, but all the others looked to be in the busy areas. This was high above it all, with fantastic views of the Bay of Naples or Vesuvius. Our room was top notch, with a really comfortable bed, plenty of room, and a huge balcony. Bathroom was great. We ate in the hotel restaurant (there didn't seem to be too much else in the neighbourhood), and it was a nice meal with a really friendly and helpful waiter. I wished we were staying more than one night!

Had a great day with my wife and two six-year-old children. Service was excellent and a special commendation to Giovanni, who was our waiter and driver as well at the hotel. He made us feel very welcome. Hotel offers an outstanding view of Mount Vesuvius and good access via train to both Naples and Sorrento. Only negative is that the immediate surrounding area near the hotel is not good for walking and purportedly not safe after dark. However, the hotel offers a shuttle bus which is complementary for short distances.
