Inexpensive by today's standards, but...

Posted Sep 2, 2014
Pros: Price
Cons: A lot, especially in the restaurant.
Location: Close proximity to the walking path along the Columbia River.
Front desk check in was fine, staff was personable and friendly. Found the room to be slightly on the dirty side, dated and sloppy. Found blood on my pillow, it was visible through the pillow case. Pictures and mirror on the wall was crocked, refer could have been cleaned better... but all in all, bed was comfortable, the place just felt and looked run down and not real apparent that anything is being done about it.

Kinda like Motel 6

Posted Aug 31, 2014
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Need updated with better houcleaning services
Location: nothing except the river walk
We stayed 2 nights, pool parties and other loud obnoxious guests. The top sheet was stained the 1st night, I didn't complain, and then they did not change our sheets, because the stain was still there. Room was dark, outdated and uncomfortable. Continental breakfast was horrid, so I just ate a banana.

One night stay

Posted Aug 15, 2014
Pros: The staff was very nice and accommodating
Cons: The TV service could be better. Was nothing available for small children without paying. There was no menu for the food service.
Location: Have no idea, there was nothing explaining what was near by, but I really did not need that
I stayed one night as I had eye surgery and needed to stay near by for 24 hours. The hotel was very accommodating and allowed for an early check in as my surgery was done by noon. The room was clean and beds were comfortable. There were no toiletries, such as shampoo, hair rinse of body lotion which I expected and did not bring my own. But for my need, it served me well and I intend to stay again for my next eye surgery in the next few months.

Pros: Location
Cons: The rooms need updated, new carpet, cleaned up good.
Location: Loved being by Columbia river.
The room smelled. Everything in the room was old-carpet, tile, sheets, comforter... It just felt dirty.

I was in town to perform a dramatic presentation.

Posted Jul 13, 2014
Pros: It was accessible, and clean.
Cons: If you could offer the breakfast a little earlier it would be better.
Location: The river is the best feature in the area.
I had a nice room that was cooly air conditioned when I arrived. The view from my room overlooked the Columbia River and was far enough away from the freeway that there was no road noise. The room was clean, comfortable and easily accessible from my parking space. I had to leave be 6AM so I was unable to sample the free breakfast.

Good Pool for little ones.

Posted Jul 8, 2014
Pros: The pool and location
Cons: upgrade the lobby and room decor
Location: near the great richland park and on the river trail.
The pool has a 1 and a half foot wading area that is great for families with little ones. It is connected but separate enough from the larger pool that it keeps the little guys in their own fun zone. The location for this hotel is great however it is older and has not been upgraded. Overall good value for the location and pool. Good to stay with kids, but I wouldn't have picked it if it was just me and my husband.

Not your typical Shilo

Posted Jul 4, 2014
Pros: The location along the river is nice for walking on the trail. As for the hotel itself, Nothing.
Cons: Major remodel, new sheets, new shower head, re carpet, etc. the outside needs paint.
Location: A couple if wineries like J Bookwalter and a nice walking path along the river.
This Shilo is very run down and needs a major remodel or a tear down. Even the bed linens had holes. I have stayed at a number of Shilo hotels and this one is NOT GOOD! The breakfast was marginal although it was complimentary. When I shopped in the Richland area on Expedia I did not see they had a Hilton and a Hampten. It would have been worth the extra money.

Not what I expected..

Posted Jun 23, 2014
Pros: Continental breakfast was good.
Cons: I would lower the star rating so people are more inline with what to expect.
Location: Close to the mall area.
Hotel is very dated. For what I spent (over $140) I was disappointed. The room was clean, however no fitted sheets! By morning my son was sleeping on the bare mattress, gross! The best part was the continental breakfast, the food was good but was served in the lounge which was dingy and very dated.. The rating on Expedia should be a 1 1/2, 2 at most..

Good location but seriously in need of updating

Posted Jun 16, 2014
Pros: Very convenient location for winery visits and easy to find. The river is right behind the hotel.
Cons: It really needs a total overhaul.
Location: Some of the wineries such as Tagaris and Bookwalter have nice restaurants and live music.
We chose the hotel for its location for a weekend in wine country. The first impression is how out of date everything is, from the small analog TV to the noisy air conditioning unit and refrigerator (which we had to turn off in order to sleep.) One of the keys (old style metal) didn't work. The staff however was friendly and helpful.
