Hotel Riviera & Maximilians Trieste, ItalyPosted Sep 11, 2013
Pros: Ambiance, location, views, the entire atmosphere.
Cons: Service at the restaurant for dinner and breakfast.
Location: The hotel is a few miles outside the city of Trieste, along the coastline, perched on a beautiful cliff with views of the Adriatic to match.
Excellent boutique hotel for families, couples and others. Great view of the Adriatic from rooms, hotel's expansive patios and beautiful gardens. The front desk particularly, other staff in general were courteous and helpful. The only criticism about the hotel would be directed at shortage of staff at restaurant during meal times. Two waiters for 20 - 25 tables could not cope with requests from diners resulting in very long waits. Breakfast room was no different. When coffee ran out, guests either waited for about 25 minutes for replanishment or simply gave up. Only one wait person was in attendance. Suggest the hotel bring in "reinforcements" when it is full with guests, in order to maintain its otherwise stellar standing.

A taste of more elegant and relaxing times.Posted Mar 29, 2013
Location: Ten miles west of Trieste, conveniently close to autostrada
We arrived at the end of a tiring journey and went to a room with a balcony and a fabulous view of the Adriatic. The dinner was splendid too.

Great, excellent hotelPosted Feb 4, 2013
Pros: excellent staff & car parking
Cons: small menu selection
Location: perfect location, out of the town enough to be peaceful, close enough to visit if required
I am a frequent raveller to Trieste either using my own car or a rental and I have always had problems finding a good hotel with parking, well. I have finally found it! The staff are really friendly, the hotel is very nice and has parking! Its a little out of the city, but this is a good thing as at night it is nice and peaceful. I will be staying at this hotel in future for all my stays in Trieste and would recommend this hotel to everyone. Thanks to all at the hotel.
aging but luxurious and clean; wonderful locationPosted Aug 13, 2012 on Hotels.com
this hotel has a marvelous location if you like the sea, and the views from the terrace is simply amazing. the rooms were very clean, and serviced twice per day. nice breakfast with open buffet and choices. on the down side, the room had old Italian style plugs ( which doesn't accept apple charger for e.u.) , you have to pay for benches at the seaside (entry is free), and the age of the place shows at some points. to sum up: I've been to better rooms for this price range, but the location makes this place my favorite in Trieste.
Service without a smilePosted Jul 5, 2012 on Hotels.com
Location is superb, breakfast very generous and room comfortable. Reception and other staff need to be far more service oriented and guest hospitality and friendliness needs to be improved.
