I had a late check in where unfortunately my reservation didn't show that I paid online . However a compromise was made and rest of my stay was great .

Classy hotel in a good location

Posted Jun 23, 2014
Pros: Customer service
Location: Located within the city. Easy access to Ariapita avenue, Movie Towne and the savanna. Driving of course.
The hotel staff was beyond nice. The room was super clean and very spacious with a balcony to relax when needed. I would always recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay in Port of Spain. I booked with Expedia and I got an executive club room for a good price. This afforded me access to the executive club with evening delicacies and drinks. This was very relaxing and a nice experience.

Nice hilltop location with view of the "Savanna"

Posted Jun 22, 2014
Pros: Location and friendly accommodating service
Location: Close to "Savanna" and downtown. Excellent views of city by day and night.
Staff was very accommodating and helpful. Beautiful swimming pools in the shape of the islands. Excellent gym and locker/shower facilities. Restaurant staff friendly and goes out of the way to ensure we were happy and satisfied with their service. Good selection of local dishes. Chefs not too familiar with North American terminology for breakfast eggs.

Not the Hilton I Expected

Posted Jun 19, 2014
Pros: Good location and clean.
Cons: The airconditioning needs to be improved big time! Attention to detail by the cleaning staff is also needed.
I had two recent stays at the Hilton in early June 2014. Generally the hotel is nice and clean and the staff is friendly. However, I do not believe it is up to the normal Hilton standards. For example, twice we had no towels or bottled water in the room. The staff quickly corrected this problem when notified. The shower's temperature was set at tepid and it could not be adjusted - cold showers are not what I needed. The air condioning only cooled the room to 76F at best. The engineer said the system was working as intended. It is very difficult to sleep in a hot room. The food was good but expensive, while the drinks at the pool and lounge were reasonably priced for a hotel. The pool is nice, but don't expect any pool side service - you have to ask for everything from drinks to towels, but the bar staff is very nice.

Expected more for the money I paid

Posted Jun 14, 2014
Just 1 bottle of water per stay as complimentary even if you are in Executive room, all extra bottles are us $3.50 e/o, and bringing some beverage from executive club to your room is not allowed. US $37 for continental breakfast is too much and nobody explain you the cost before sitting in the restaurant.

The staff is very helpful and friendly. The facilities are in great condition. The bad thing is that in room wifi has to be paid for.

City view

Posted Jun 3, 2014
Pros: the food was good, the ceviche was my favorite
Cons: the room smelled like a smoking room, and we paid for a non-smoking.
Location: Visit the Center if you are interested in buying fruits and other things (feels like a flea market)
We decided to visit Trinidad and what better hotel than the Hilton where the president has stayed :) we enjoyed the bar, the staff was great, Lamaine, Maria, and Tyrone. We thought the restaurant downstairs was a BIT pricey. but enjoyed it anyways. we walked to the center. about 1hr walk. it was safe, there was nothing that caught our attention at the center. (I pictured a strip full of restaurants and bars) we couldn't get to Tobago because the ferry was not working. but we managed to go to maracas beach, cuevas and tried the famous shark baked.
