The hotel is situated on a quite street which was great for my wife and I, The location was ideal as there was plenty of shops, cafe's and restaurants within a short walk. Also the Eiffel Tower was just 15 minutes walk from which you could access lot of other facilities. "Just a great hotel."
My 19yr old daughter and I visited Paris for the weekend. We had a fantastic time, which was definitely made all the more enjoyable by staying at The Great Western. From start to finish the staff were brilliant - very helpful and courteous. On the first day the guy in reception gave us a map of Paris, and explained clearly how to get about easily from the hotel. He even advised us to watch out for pickpockets. We asked for 2 singles, but got a double instead - but the bed was huge! Easily a King's size. It was extremely comfortable - so we didn't complain. The room was a little on the warm side, but you can control the temperature yourself. Ok - so the bathroom was a bit small, and the shower would prove a challenge to anyone on the larger side - but I can't bring myself to lower the rating just for that. The breakfast was lovely - delicious croissants, and plenty of coffee (there were lots of other things to eat - but we love croissants!). One tip - if you're staying over the weekend make sure you go to breakfast early on a Sunday! We ended up taking ours to our room, as there was nowhere to sit in the breakfast room. The hotel is about 20 to 30 minutes from most tourist attractions - but we really enjoyed getting the bus (no. 72!) and looking at all the sights, as well as seeing a little of the French way of life. The metro was also very close, and extremely easy to get about on. All in all - a great location. We will definitely return to this hotel again.

The streets southwest of the Arc de Triomphe comprise exclusive residential properties, embassies, dynamic modern architecture and smart restaurants. Riverside landmarks are the grandiose Palais de Chaillot in its fountain gardens, the Palais de Tokyo and the Maison de Radio-France (free concerts). Beyond the Périphérique, the Bois de Boulogne is a park with lakes and plentiful leisure amenities but is best avoided after dark.
