Good location, tiny room, shared balcony.

Posted Sep 12, 2014
Room overlooked the reception area so any noise from there could be heard in the room. Room was very tight (no room to walk round the bed) and the tiny balcony (one table and 2 chairs) was shared with the room next door. Very small bathroom with concertina door (no room to put a proper door in) and threadbare towels. Expensive breakfast 15€ each, but pleasant staff. The hotel is in a pedestrian area, so park in Parking Hotel de Ville which turns out to be directly under the hotel - 10€ per day paid to reception on departure.

Perfectly located hotel with parking

Posted Aug 10, 2014
Pros: Position, parking and overall standard of accommodation
Location: Right in the centre of the action of the old town of Troyes...restaurants-a-plenty to choose from
Troyes was our final stopover on a driving holiday through France, Germany, Austria and Italy and we are so pleased we booked Relais st Jean. It is perfectly located right in The centre of the old town and close to lots of bars and restaurants. The staff are friendly and the hotel is great, you won't be disappointed if you book!

Location, location, location!

Posted Jul 10, 2014
Pros: We chose this hotel for it's location which is second to none, in the heart of the medieval city. Added to this, it has secure underground parking.
Cons: Our room was a little cramped and the bathroom would have benefitted from some renovation.
Location: Troyes is a charming small city to explore on foot with several fine churches and some interesting museums.
Troyes is a convenient stopping point en route to and from the South but it is also a gem of an old city with many medieval houses, fine churches and charming restaurants. Every Francophile should visit this city.

Comfort in a great location

Posted May 29, 2014
Pros: Location, modern facilties, helpful staff
Cons: Nothing
Location: Troyes is an ancient and fascinating town, full of churches, cathedrals, and half timbered houses.
The location of our trip was to visit the old city and architecture of this interesting city. This hotel was perfectly situated for doing this. The hotel itself is very well modernized and comfortable, and the staff and owners could not have been better hosts. The only downside of Troyes is trying to find this hotel situated on a small alley in the midst of the old city. After some wandering about, we figured all this out it turned out not to be a problem.

A short stop over

Posted Apr 15, 2014
Pros: In the historic town centre, easy parking was a bonus, very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful with good choice, friendly, helpful staff.
Friendly and welcoming after a long drive - Troyes a pleasant place to visit on an overnight stop with ancient streets, interesting shops and many restaurants and bars to choose from. Comfy beds and clean rooms - with a great breakfast in the morning. Helpful friendly staff, throughout the hotel.

Ideally situated unusual hotel

Posted Apr 2, 2014
Pros: The staff were superb and the receiptionists in particular immediately made us feel welcome. The first floor garden was certainly unique!
Location: Troyes is a lovely town with something for everyone. There are good restaurants, classy shops and beautiful architecture on the hotel's doorstep.
We choose this hotel as a stopover on the way to and from the Alps. It was a great experience and being right in the centre of Troyes it afforded us the opportunity to explore this beautiful town. The only downside to being in the centre of town is navigating to the car park. Luckily I had taken heed of the warning on the web site and made sure that we had the right address for the sat nav. If you are a nervous driver then this might not be the right hotel for you as the streets to the car park are narrow and the underground car park needs to be carefully negotiated. That having been said it is definitely worth the effort and we will now use it as our normal stopover. This hotel is full of quirky little touches which makes it stand out from the crowd and my husband said that the bed was the most comfortable that he had ever slept in. It's a little gem.

Great stopover hotel for the Alps

Posted Feb 24, 2014
Pros: Fantastic hotel room with modern touches, it was very comfortable and quiet. The breakfast room was beautifully furnished with a friendly waitress.
Location: Fantastic architecture in the medieval quarter and lots of good shopping, with great little bistros.
We stayed in this hotel in Troyes on our way back from skiiing in the Alps. Troyes is a wonderful little town, and the area where the hotel is located is in the centre of the medieval part of the town. The buildings are wonderful, its like being in a film. The hotel is tucked away in a side street, very quiet with a great underground car park.
