Not as bad as others seem to think

Pros: Good value if you don't have the breakfast.
Cons: Breakfast! It's isolated if you want to walk to restaurants and a good walk to get toTroyes.
Location: Troyes is a must.
We stayed here for two nights as we'd left it too late to book anything reasonable in Troyes. The place is a bit quirky but the room was clean and had everything you'd expect but the air conditioning didn't work. Parking is on-site and seemed safe enough. It's about 3/4 to 1 hours' walk from Troyes, although there is a bus stop right outside and what seemed to be a frequent service (but not on a Sunday when we wanted to use it). The grounds around the motel are well-kept but there are no tables and chairs to sit and drink a bottle of wine and enjoy the local cheese. There is only one place to eat close by - right next door. This is a Turkish take-away/café which is OK and very reasonable if you're just after kebab or pizza-type food. Unfortunately this closed in Sunday so either a long walk or a drive for other restaurants. Breakfast is provided in the quirky US diner-style room. But this is clean and had enough tables for all guests when we were there. However, we thought the breakfast was going to be €6.45 and it turned out it was €9 each. This was far too high for two small pieces of bread, a doughnut, yoghurt. reconstituted juice and one cup of tea or coffee (although there were also slices of cheese and meat available one morning).

Hotel Staff very helpful

The hotel is quite a way from any amenities. We arrived late but the staff stayed to book us in which was very much appreciated. We then went to look for food and the only place open was a pizzeria approx 2 km away. I would stay there again as it's in such an ideal location for the main route south.

Won't stay again

For the good stuff: the lady at the desk was nice and welcoming. But the rest, this was a so-so experience. I have to say I'm usually a hostel kind of traveller so I don't expect much comfort, but when I stay in hotels I want a bare minimum quality to my stay. The room has no heating, and being a unusually cold weather who I stayed, I asked how do I crank up the heat. My question was received with surprised, like it didnt make sense. Also had to wait a couple hours outside before checking in because thee was no one at reception. The rooms are very old, ugly and not very comfortable. Hopefully I won't have to stay there on my next trip in Troyes...

Inter Hotel Ste Savine, Troyes

Posted Mar 20, 2012 on Hotels.com
This is a basic but interesting Elvis-themed hotel and was conveniently placed for us to break our long journey through France. A decent breakfast. An adequately comfortable room, with only the slight issue that the temperature was not controllable except by opening the window - no big problem in calm weather. For dinner there are restaurants not far away, but we arrived late and did not use them. If seeking the hotel using satnav, be careful to enter the postcode 10300. We first found another Ave with same name in Troyes city centre.

Definitely not impressed

The hotel is situated well away from any amenities and there is no suitable eating place within reasonable walking distance. No food facilities are offered beyond breakfast (which was very good) and evening meals are therefore a problem. There are no tea or coffee making facilities and the whole place looked as if it needs some TLC ! Not worth the money and wouldn't recommend it.
