Le Champ des Oiseaux

Positives - this hotel is in a perfect location. Parking a bit of an issue, but after recieving a parking ticket from the police that the hotel paid for we got our secure parking. We had a car full of camping gear so were not happy about parking away from the hotel. The hotel is superbly decorated and full of character. I would have loved (in english) more about the work that has gone into restoring this building. All of Troyes is amazing. I sent some pictures of our room to friends and was asked if I was sure I was not staying in The Swan at Lavenham (Suffolk) where I live! We were in top room Marinot. No wifi connection and I would have liked a few brochures about the town in the room, but they are in reception. Breakfast was lovely but I thought a bit overpriced, if the food was not as expensive I would have liked to have breakfast all the time and maybe one evening meal. Lovely girl on reception told us about a Brassierie that was superb, went there two nights running. It was cold and rainy so great to come back to room to warm up and snuggle in a huge bed. Great to have a bath after two weeks camping in south of France. We stayed two nights on way home for a bit of luxury, it was and I would go again. Oh my bedside light had to be turned off on other side, there are a few little things like that that could be better, but I am picking at straws. Also I was cross that I had hung towels up but they were all washed. Could write a lot more!!!!
