Delightful oasis in a historic cityPosted Aug 25, 2013 on Hotels.com
This is the place to stay if you are heading the Martina Franca. The garden setting is so peaceful...you may not even realize you are in a bustling city. The meals and service are impeccable! The rooms are comfortable. The historic center is only a short walk. The best of all worlds.

Convenient, lovely setting, tired facility.Posted Jun 29, 2013
Pros: Setting. Convenience
Cons: Updated furnishings.
Location: Lovely town plazas, pedestrian streets, and busy Wednesday street market.
Hotel located in lovely gardens within easy walk of historic town center. Parking available, good dinner and welcoming staff. Both public areas and bedrooms were clean and pleasant but spare, outdated, oddly shaped and with poor lighting. Buffet cold breakfast was mediocre. Hotel seems to be a spot for weddings and parties midweek and weekends. Music from outtdoor partieson both evenings could be heard in the rooms until midnight.

Fading BeautyPosted Aug 10, 2012 on Hotels.com
Nestled just outside the historic center of Martina Franca, this garden oasis from the heat and city make it an ideal place to stay, which we did for four nights. With ample free parking, the hotel is extremely convenient for exploring the surrounding towns of the Valle d'Itria such as Alberobello, Cisternino, Locorotondo and Ostuni by car. The hotel itself maintains an opulent charm from a slightly bygone era - the room while spacious and clean had an extremely dated bathroom with a whirlpool tub/shower combination but no shower curtain or partition. This resulted in copious amounts of water splashing about the floor. This combined with shoddy caulking around the tub left me with a dim view of the bathroom. The room furnishings were dated and tired. The room did include a nice veranda. The reception staff were brusque but efficient and acceptable. The waitstaff were very pleasant to deal with, and the morning breakfast buffet vast - excellent coffee. Your fellow patrons are mostly Italian businessmen, a few tourists and "the regulars". One gets the idea that many of the rather elderly patrons come back for a relaxing stay on a yearly basis and have been doing so for some time. Overall, the hotel is recommendable. Martina Franca itself is a splendid maze of an old town, and not to be missed. Try Piazetta Garibaldi for amazing food.

Lovely stay at Park Hotel San MichellePosted Jul 1, 2012 on Hotels.com
I recently stayed for 5 nights with a friend on a visit to Martina Franca as my parents stay in the area and we really enjoyed our time here. The hotel provided everything we needed and the service was great. We had booked a twin room and were given a room with two bedrooms, large bathroom and big terrace! The rooms were very spacious, clean and well equipped with large wardrobes, mini fridge. The bathroom only had a bath with a shower attachment so a stand up shower was not possible but this didn't really bother us. Worth asking the hotel if there are rooms with stand up showers if you would not be happy with this arrangement. Breakfast was good with enough choice and you can eat inside or out. We had some lunch twice and were well catered for. The staff and service were great. They provided beach towels for the pool, wi-fi is free and they let us check out late in the afternoon on our last day without a problem. Although this hotel is not modern luxury and perhaps lacks one or two expectations of a 4 star I have given our stay 5 out of 5 as the hotel more than delivered on what we needed and surpassed our expectations in terms of the space and service we were given. I will be returning again!

Great environment!Posted Jun 7, 2011
This was a great hotel surrounded by trees and plants. The hotel staff was very friendly and helped us to find a good restaurant. The hotel was close to the old downtown.
