Building option.

Cons: Provide customers with the up front option of staying in the main hotel or the annex motel location.
Overall okay. Was unaware until arrival at hotel that my room was an annex building located at the rear of the main hotel. The "annex" building being motel rooms. Possible advantage to this was not being in a room facing the street, and being tucked away in the rear where it was quiet during my stay. Albeit having stayed in the "hotel", on a Sunday and Monday.

Best Western Truro

Spend one night there. Overall - positive experience. Room was fairly clean. Beds clean and comfortable. Bathroom on a smaller side but Ok. Full breakfast was included, good and filling. Pool and hot tub - clean and in good order. Overall - quite decent Best Western. If you are traveling with family - good deal.

Rude and chaotic staff

I travel for work, and thought I would try the Truro best western instead of my usual spot. Mistake! I could have dealth with the dated rooms, unfresh smells, but the rudeness of the front desk staff fell far below my already low expectations. I've had great stays at Best Westerns in other cities in the past, usually you can expect a clean room and a kind staff. Upon checkout (there were 4 staff that were talking to each other around details of my uncomplicated checkout) I was greeted with a pleasant "hello" but then identified as "room 238" thereafter. - "Did room 238 have a late checkout?" - "yes but she owes x for x" (came another voice from the bacn office) (Several minutes and staff involved in the computer portion of the checkout- quite frankly a perfect opportunity to say something to the effect of "Ms y, how was your stay?" Instead, a staff who had not begun my checkout gave me a piece of paper, debited my card (apparel privately) then started talking to the other staff behind the desk. I stood there waiting for some sort of acknowledgement of the transaction being completed, but instead, one of the staff finally looked at me inquisitively prompting me to genuinely ask "are we done?" - "Ya I gave you the paper". I've travelled plenty and know that staff training varies, but the whispers and rolled eyes as I walked away indicates that it's not lack of training that made these staff behave the way they did.

Cold room on a winter's night

Pros: It's hard to find something to like given the lack of customer service.
spent more money to book a room in the main building to avoid the cold typically associated with the outside units. First floor room temp was low, huge drafts coming in from the windows, and air conditioning unit. Maintenance reported that the only thing they could do was to duct tape a towel around the AC. It didn't work. The heat was turned down low in the room upon arrival and with little insulation, took 12 hours to rise 4 degrees. Called to ask for a space heater and the front desk staff acted like it was some sort of imposition. After 15 minutes of waiting I called to cancel the space heater. Front desk did not follow-up after telling me it would be only a few minutes. It was late and I was tired and cold. Upon check-out, was not asked how my stay was, no apology for the quality of the room. Overall, it was a terrible experience and I would NEVER stay there again.

Pros: everything and the free breakfast
Cons: not sure how to improve on perfection
Location: Close to the tidal bore watching area. Interesting town, the 'hub of Nova Scotia. Look for osprey nests on top of the power towers
Would not hesitate to stay again or recommend to friends

Best Western Glengarry Hotel, Truro

Pros: Comfortable beds, very nice staff, delicious breakfast included.
I would recommend this hotel. The location was great, staff very nice, breakfast was included and was delicious and the rooms and beds were very comfortable.

Nice hotel and central.

Pros: The location is central and on a main street, easy to find.
Cons: In our room, it was perfect.
Location: Hotel was close to Rath Eastlink Community Centre where we attended a concert.
Would stay here again, and we had a nice breakfast the next morning. Good experience with no problems, staff were very pleasant.

Pros: The free breakfast buffet was very good.
Cons: Hotel needs a refresh and swimming pool wasn't nice.
Hotel is dated and needs a refresh. The swimming pool was cold and the water had a terrible odour.

Pool and hot tub disappointing

Front staff friendly and rooms clean. Rooms ok but a bit run down. We were looking forward to swim and hot tub. Hot tub was like warm and pool smelled like diesel. Felt like we were covered in oil as soon as went into pool. Told front desk and they had someone check it. Had been repainted so may have been from the paint. Was disgusting and smelled up out clothes. Breakfast was good
