"We had a great stay!"
We had a great time. The room was ready when we arrived. The staff was very friendly. The room was very clean. Other reviewers complained about not getting late check in or the fact it is a retirement community. There is a number to call for check ins after 5pm. Just call and let them know ahead of time. Yes. This is in a retirement community. There are restrictions on the times children can be in the pool. It did not bother us. Our son is 14 years old and he had no problem using the pool and hot tub. I loved the fact that there were mostly adults at the pool. Would definately stay again. The only negative we found is that the beds are a little hard. My husband's back hurt after the first night. The matteress did not bother me.

"Nice place to stay"
We loved the center court yard. The orange trees were starting to bloom and the fragrance was wonderful. The court yard area is a beautiful place to relax. The breakfast staff was very friendly and took time to visit with us. Breakfast was very good. Our room was very comfortable. This hotel was a good location for us as took in sights around Tucson.

"Ritz Carlton review - 30 March - 5 April 2014"
Christian, the Hotel Manager, upgraded our room to a Superior Executive Suite upon arrival once we realized our original room was located in the villages above the pools - it was too far for our son to walk as he has an impaired leg and wears a brace. Christian was very helpful and understanding to accommodate our needs - kudos to him. The facility is very nice and lives up to the Ritz high quality standards. We all enjoyed the 200 foot water slide! The staff were also very pleasant, attentive and helpful. The only negative experience was the poor quality food at Ignite Restaurant on our first night. It was served late and our son's burger was the size of a 1/2 dollar and charred to a black crisp! They returned with a hot dog that wasn't fully heated! The manger acknowledged the chefs were having some issues (to say the least). When you're paying a premium price for a meal and get fast food quality, it is beyond unreasonable. But fortunately the meals served at the other restaurants (Core, Claytons and Latin Grill) were much better . I rate the overall food a satisfactory based upon quality and price. We ate one dinner at Cheesecake Factory and another at California Pizza Kitchen at the Tucson Mall - much better value for comparable quality.

"Quiet, attractive history, and centrally located."
This hotel was recommended by friends with whom we were biking. When we arrived, prior to check in time, our room was not quite ready and we were ushered to the comfortable library off the lobby area. We walked around the beautiful grounds with a maze of walkways, well maintained gardens, and a lovely pool area. We had a spacious room on the ground level (only 2 floors), perfect for storing our bike bags and easily accessible and convenient to the parking lot at the back of the hotel, where we loaded our bikes every day. The bathroom was spotless with extra towels, the bed and pillows were perfect; no blasting of cold air from a separate air conditioner and easily controlled room temperature. Happy Hour was especially nice after a long day of hiking and biking and the drinks and appetizers were tasty and reasonably priced. The housekeeping staff were excellent, always a hello and smile and so agreeable if we needed something extra. We did not eat too often at the hotel restaurant as Tuscon seems to have a great choice of interesting and eclectic cuisine. There is an easy, relaxed yet classy feel about the lodge where one feels like a guest but also feels at home.

I feel that for the price range of this facility after paying a resort fee of $20 per day to park and have internet, you should not be charged an additional fee to get fairly decent speed internet.

When I first checked into my room, I was disappointed by the worn hide-a-bed couch and chair. For the price, I expected a little more. But after staying at the hotel, and enjoying the amenities, I realized that it had a lot to offer. Beautiful pool, hot tub, excellent breakfast, good location. I soon forgot about the worn couch.

We have been there a few times and we love it. This time was my birthday weekend. We received a complementary upgrade for our room. We had a suite and the place was spotless. We loved our beds, the pillows and the robes felt really soft. Every staff members had a small and were very attentive. Housekeeping was fast and efficient. We left for breakfast and when we came back, our room was completely done. Loved it. We had dinner at Epazote restaurant and the January featured menu was delicious. I had the lamb skews and butternut squash soup and both dishes were absolutely delicious. My husband had the oxtail and it was really good too. We tried Sundance Cafe for breakfast and I loved that they served buffet up until 1pm, so no rush in waking up early. The buffet was ok. It had fruit, oatmeal, yoghurt, scrambled eggs, specialty eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, bread pudding and pastries to name a few. Overall, it was a great weekend vacay.
