“Under Impressed”
I found it highly inconvenient that this hotel's gym was not open past 8pm. As a regular business traveler who works out regularly after I return from long meetings that go past the dinner hours, I was extremely disappointed by this, and when I spoke to the manager on duty about this, he was rather dismissive.
“Wonderful!”
It is a beautiful resort with fabulous views. We never even left the grounds - everything you could want was right there. We hiked Ventana Canyon, swam, ate at the great restaurants at the resort, got a message at the spa and relaxed. There were many activities that we could have joined - movies, night club, golf but we ran out of time. We had the most perfect weekend. The rooms were amazingly comfortable with terrific views. Every staff member we came across was polite and helpful. I've stayed many places while traveling and this was, by far, the best!
“a beautiful spot”
this was a great spot to have as our anchor when we visited our daughter. staff and service were wonderful and attentive.
“Beautiful Desert Landscape”
Beuatiful and peaceful. Lots of activities. Food was excellent. Service was excellent.
“Meh... nickle and dime you to death.”
Really, charge for parking, internet, fitness center? OK, so I got a good rate through Expedia, if I hadn't I'd be angry. This is like airlines charging fees for everything you would normally expect included in the price. It just seems slimy. And... never changed out the soap or shampoo / conditioner bottles. The bathroom had bad painting accidents on the walls and the floor was dirty. The lobby was nice, the koy pond was nice, the restaurant was perfectly adequate. Bed comfort was good. Pillows were good. Towels were just OK. Odd hotel design for a desert area. Rooms had no interior corridor so one has to walk down a long walkway outside the rooms in the 100+ degree heat. Stone floors are not smooth so that anything on rollers or a cart or bags make a lot of noise. Just OK. I actually thought the Windmill was a better place to stay in Tucson. Nice folks too.
“Customer Service is their "job one'”
Excellent customer service at every point of contact with the employees - from pool side attendants, wait persons, concierge, front desk, - every position we encountered was a pleasant experience. The food menus at breakfast, pool-side lunch, inside dinner were very good, nicely presented, and more than enough to satisfy a big eater!
“Lovely Resort”
With the exception of the service at the hotel bar, my stay at Loews was wonderful.
“Excellent Stay!”
The hotel is in a great location -- close to everything - hiking, town, restraunts. Service was excellent and staff very friendly. Overall -- one of the best places we've stayed in in the US!
“Lovely as usual, but lots of kids this time”
This is my third visit to this property and I enjoyed it very much as always - the grounds, room, food, personnel were all delightful. However, I was unprepared for how many people were staying there, especially all the kids crowding the pool. (Perhaps these were families taking that final brief 'staycation' right before school starts? I arrived on a Friday, and they were all gone by late Sunday.) When I've visited in the past (typically late June), there were no more than a handful of families around. I'll definitely be going back, just not in early August!
“Plan to go back to Loews”
We enjoyed our short stay at Loews. We plan to come back at a later date for a longer stay. The only negative was an additional parking charge at check in.
