Great Historic Neon Sign! Great location!

Posted Apr 9, 2015
Pros: Mid-century modern architecture and neon sign. Location.
Cons: Helpfulness of staff. I had a very difficult time finding the ice machine.
Location: The restaurants and shops on 4th Street are just a quick 5 minute drive away.
My husband and I really enjoyed this motel. I'm so thankful to Quality Inn for retaining the historic neon sign and for preserving the mid-century Modern architecture of the building and site. It's nice to see a big corporation doing the right thing to preserve local history. Not only was the motel clean and comfortable, it is also very conveniently located to all the great shops and restaurants on 4th Street, as well as to downtown.

older motel undergoing renovation

Posted Mar 25, 2015
Pros: convenience to downtown and good price
Cons: Get the renovations done
Location: Downtown and University close by. Not too far to Congress St and the scene therein.
Not a bad place considering the age. Appears they are conducting a renovation on the fly as they rent rooms next to those under construction. No issues with the contractors themselves as they were non-intrusive. Breakfast "omeletes" were pretty rubbery but edible. Reasonable pricing and a fairly decent place to stay.

checked out after first night

Posted Mar 9, 2015
no facilities - pool and hot tub were closed. You could hear everything in neighboring rooms. hotel was not close to anything and in a sketchy neighbourhood. I'd reconsider your decision to stay, to me worth paying a little more for a better experience. staff was friendly.

Decent and Affordable

Posted Jan 3, 2015
Pros: The young lady at the front counter was very friendly and polite. Room was surprisingly comfortable, clean, and most of all, affordable.
Cons: The exterior of the building itself is rather decrepit and dated. Had trouble with the hot water not working well.
Location: As far as location goes, it is conveniently near all of the Tucson hotspots. However, the block feels unsafe with so many shady characters around.
We had a pleasant experience here for the most part. The staff was friendly and polite, especially the young lady at the front counter. The exterior of the building is a bit of a turn off, but the room itself seemed to be recently renovated, as it was clean and comfortable. The surrounding neighborhood seems pretty shady, as we saw a lot of questionable looking people in or around the hotel. Even so, it is very close to a lot of the local hotspots and within driving distance to a lot of attractions. We did have trouble with the hot water running properly in the morning, and it was pretty miserable having to endure a cold shower after it had snowed/rained all night. Overall, it's a good place to stay at if you aren't too picky and need somewhere affordable to rest.

Dear Ris, I am sorry that you had trouble with hot water; we had a recent issue with the hot water heater and the issue has been resolved. We are currently renovating the exterior of our hotel and we anticipate the renovations to complete by the end of February. We hope to see you soon!

Old school charm with a modern twist = AWESOME!!!!

Posted Nov 26, 2014 on Hotels.com
I was pleasantly surprised with this hotel. I LOVE the old school charm but with its modern rooms, it is a fantastic place to stay and I would DEFINITELY return if I am in the Tucson area again!! The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was immaculate and overall the room was very pleasant. It had a mini-fridge and a nice flat screen TV. The free breakfast was amazing: fresh pastries, waffles, eggs, sausage and a variety of other stuff. The staff is super nice too! I would HIGHLY recommend this place. It is not the Four Seasons, but a very nice place for the price.

En general muy bien para el precio, estan un poco desorganizados en cuanto al desayuno creo que pueden mejorar. No estan preparados para tener un hotel lleno de clientes

Vale la pena para los fines de semana de compras

Posted Nov 23, 2014 on Hotels.com

Mala experiencia

Posted Nov 21, 2014 on Hotels.com

Nice rooms, crappy hotel

Posted Nov 13, 2014
I found this hotel at odds with itself. While the rooms were very nice and the breakfast area showed a recent touch up, the condition of the hotel, corridors and the steps leading up to the 2nd floor were terrible. I think if you dont look at the outside (fascade) you'll do well.
