Beautiful spot.

The hotel itself could use some updating. The grounds are beautiful I did have an issue with the very noisy air conditioner in the bedroom The staff were very friendly and helpful

Family and extended stay

Posted Jun 9, 2014
The room is located at the edge of the golf course. There is a full kitchen, a living room and a large bedroom all if which are nicely decorated. The only problem is that the are conditioner blowed constantly since there is no auto setting and it was loud.

Nice resort but!

Posted Jun 2, 2014
Pros: Nice place to stay while playing golf or using pool.
Location: Hotel is a little to far away for a quick trip to town. Great place to stay if you don't want to explore sites that require a car ride.
Room was clean and impressive until you had to climb to loft (circular staircase) small in diameter and tough to climb carting luggage. Air conditioning went out in room and hotel sent engineer. He managed to call front desk and have us moved to another room. Room was smaller but in good shape. I asked was the room less expensive and was told $20 per night. Could not reduce rate because I booked through Expedia. They would not even give us a later check out the next day. The resort also adds 20% to all food and drink purchases and then asks if you would like to add a tip.

Great deal compared to main hotel (sometimes)

Posted May 13, 2014
Pros: Price, amenities, ambiance, food, putting green and golf if you want!
Mother's Day. Lowes Ventana wanted 2X what the Lodge was offering for a room. Great service, got a rollaway bed when we needed it, the grounds are beautiful, the restraunt food is AMAZING. This is where wealthy older folks go to live. You really can't go wrong.

Quick trip

Posted May 12, 2014
Pros: Everything and everyone at The Lodge at Ventana Canyon was wonderful.
Location: Location was very nice. Grocery stores, pharmacy and local restaurants were all within a 5 minute drive. Recommend transportation of some kind.
I got a rate on the room which I could not refuse. The facilities and staff were superb. The amenities were excellent, although I didn't get a chance to spend time using the majority of the facilities, I can't wait to go back and be able to spend time using them. My one bedroom suite was awesome. The kitchenette came in very handy. It was very quite and peaceful. It was nice to have peace, quite and reflection after spending two long days with family members and attending a funeral. Also, the premises is pet friendly with walking trails specific for pets!

Beautiful rooms, average facilities

Posted Feb 18, 2014
Pros: rooms!
Cons: pool area (#1!!) & outside looks a little run down
Location: Beautiful location -- golf, hiking, relaxing
Beautiful, spacious suites & location is wonderful with backdrop beautiful. Downside -- pool & restaurant look more like a club than resort. I strongly recommend they #1) redo the pool so it looks like a resort #2) add more to lobby area to make this place perfect

Fancy Place, Loud

Posted Feb 17, 2014
Kind of a nice place but loud. Doors slam shut, the walls are thin and you get to listen to water flow as your neighbors flush and shower.

Needs updating. Not good for kids.

Posted Feb 17, 2014
Rooms were big but need updating. We had duct tape holding wall paper in wall in bathroom. Beds and pillows were not comfortable. Same as cheap motel. Food was good. People were nice. Pool was not good if you are wanting a resort pool. Good if you want to swim laps. Overall we won't come back.

Ok hotel next to the mountains

Posted Jan 21, 2014
Pros: Very friendly staff.
Cons: Air AC/ heat filter was filthy. The water supply lines in the kitchen were reversed. The TVs are not HD. There was regular complimentary coffee.
Location: Location was great. Golf, restaurant on site. Great dining close by. Close to Sabino Canyon, hiking.
Check in was quick. Room was spacious and clean.
