“Great hotel... just confirm reservations”

I booked this room for a family member and saw the room firsthand. We've used this hotel before. It's always clean, the staff is always very friendly and helpful, and the rooms are nice. Only one thing happened that could be a problem. I had reserved a regular room 24 hours in advance. When the family member checked in, all the regular rooms were already filled. People they expected to check-out didn't checkout. In other words, our room was NOT reserved as it should have been. So, to make things right, we were given a suite for the same price. That was awesome, and I appreciate the accomodation and consideration. However, it does leave me with a few worries for me and anyone else in the future. I wonder what would have happened if EVERY room had been filled, including the suites. We probably would have had to go somewhere else at the last minute -- on graduation weekend -- and pray somewhere decent had a room. It could have been disastrous. For anyone who books this hotel, I'd call the morning of your arrival and confirm there WILL be a room available, especially if it's a holiday weekend or something similar. I also hope the hotel will seriously review their policies on guests who want to extend their stay for a room that's already booked to someone else. People make reservations for a reason -- to guarantee a room.

“Less than excited”

While my room was clean, which is very important; the hotel had not been kept up to date. The beds and pillows were very uncomfortable. The hotel appears to still allow smoking and even my non-smoking room reeked of stale smoke.
