Nice overall scenic views and areaPosted Jul 13, 2015
Pros: It was close to the interstate. It had a full service restaurant and gift shop. ALL of the staff and employees were caring, nice, friendly .
Cons: Only the water pressure for our shower . It was a little funny at first, hardly any water was coming out. We had to change rooms, still low pressure
Location: A very nice and scenic area on top of Monteagle mountain. You could take several backroads up and down the mountain. A few quaint shops to see.
Our stay here was very good. The staff made us feel most welcome. It was very nice to have a full service restaurant and gift shop as part of the hotel. The top of the mountain locale was most scenic and pleasing . You did not have to walk or drive very far to be in some beautiful Tennessee country and backroads. /we were looking for a nice, quiet, peaceful place to stay due to the death of an elderly family member. We just needed some rest and relaxation. The only one issue we had, and I am not a person who wants to complain about anything . The water pressure for the shower in our room was low and the water in the shower was just barely coming out. The front desk and the maintenance crew were on this at once !!! They were great. The problem could not be fixed, so we had to move to another room.. No big deal at all. The water pressure was a little better in the new room. but it was still not what we are used to expect in a hotel room . Is this just because of the area ? Or low pressure on top of a mountain. ? We did not know. I would LOVE to stay here again, and tell my friends about this hotel. But taking a nice long hot shower after work, or a busy day is right up there on our top lists of things we look for. Room service was fast and the food was very good. One time, we did not recieve ALL of the items we ordered, but this also was resolved at ONCE by the staff and all was good. The main thing was ALL employees were nice !

Close and convenientPosted Jun 16, 2015
My wife and I stayed during Bonnaroo Music Festival. We were only 20 minutes away from the venue and paid only 1/4 of the price charged by many other hotels in the area. The staff was friendly and welcoming. The hotel is also located in close proximity to several state parks which provide opportunities to hike, camp, and enjoy other outdoor activities. The smokehouse affiliated with the hotel is a must try...that is, if you enjoy BBQ and home cooking. The cook, generally has samples of pulled pork, pork ribs, and beef brisket to offer in the general store...enjoy a sample and the food will sell itself. As a BBQ enthusiast (a bit of a snob I suppose), I'd recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys BBQ.

Indifferent ServicePosted Apr 17, 2015 on Hotels
I loved this place last year but got a different impression on this visit. Some of the staff here are very nice, but there was a general tendency to seem indifferent to customer service here this time. When we arrived, we requested a room in the back (as these are much nicer than the rooms facing the parking lot), but were told those rooms were full. OK, luck of the draw, but next, though our hotel reservation stated there would be a fridge in the room, our room actually turned out to have no fridge. We asked about it and were told rooms didn't have fridges and that they had just given away the last one. No apology. So we kept the dog's food and the salad for picnics in the ice bucket and didn't take home our leftovers from restaurants. OK. Then, on our second day there, we were out all day and returned to find no one had cleaned the room, brought coffee, emptied the trash, etc. So, I called to mention this and ask for coffee, and the front desk attendant brought some coffee with, again, no apology, no explanation. All kinda made me feel they didn't really care whether we had a pleasant stay or not. The rooms are fine, but I wouldn't seek this place out again.

Nice hotel and very good restaurantPosted Apr 7, 2015
Location: Close to the Interstate. Not far from the Jack Daniels Distillery
Very clean and comfortable rooms. Very friendly and helpful staff! The adjacent restaurant (Smokehouse) is also very good with reasonable prices and delicious meals (dinner and breakfast!) Would come back!!

The smokehouse next door provides a nice touchPosted Apr 5, 2015
The hotel itself is clean and meets basic expectations with little flair. The cabin look to the remodeling is a nice touch. The smokehouse next door providing live music on the weekend that is kid friendly and a general store built around an aromatic live smokehouse are great attractions. The smokehouse also incorporates a restaurant offering very attractive and tastey menu items as well as a well appointed buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Guests should really walk next door and take the smokehouse in.

great location, but less than good!Posted Apr 1, 2015
Cons: cleanliness and amenities
I loved being on top of the mountain, but the internet painted a lot better picture than we found.. The pool looked like it had been closed for years. No refrigerator or microwave in the first room they gave us. the toilet was wobbling. They upgraded us to a cabin space that was dirty. It had dead lady bugs in piles around the beds and windows. Ants galore on the kitchenette. the phone did not work either. the front desk said the place had been under renovation for one and a half years. it needs a lot more.
