Beautiful property, beach and wonderful staff.

Posted Dec 27, 2014
We stayed in a two bedroom suite which was very comfortable for myself and my two kids. A short walk from numerous restaurants and a Gourmet IGA made the location perfect. The staff was very nice and accommodating. The Pelican restaurant had a menu that even the kids liked, and there was plenty of choices.

Great hotel, installation, beach but average servi

Posted Dec 27, 2014
Pros: Large, comfortable and clean rooms with a small kitchen and washer and dryer.
Cons: 1) Breakfast is poor in options and expensive. 2) Poor service (from bell boys to some waitresses) and we have to come from the beach to the bar to dr
The hotel is great with large, comfortable and clean rooms, in front of the beach, very calm and close to good to restaurants. The hotel has great beach structure and not very crowded and offers kayaks, paddle-boards, etc. The structure is good and nice, with reasonable pools and a jacuzzi. The rooms have a kitchen so you can have breakfast in the room (Buy groceries at the local supermarket (10 min walk from the hotel)).

Very old and dated resort

Posted Dec 26, 2014
Pros: Nothing
Although we understand that a lot of people like this resort, there are so many better ones in Turks and Caicos. This resort is very old and everything is dated. The shower doesn't work well, the kitchen appliances are about 20 years old and it just doesn't have a resort feel to it. The beach in front of it is not the best, there are many better ones that you can visit if you rent a car. Pictures of the pools are deceptive. The main pool is really tiny.

A nice place with a great view

Posted Dec 25, 2014
Views from buildings 1 and 2 are great. Beach staff is lackadaisical. You need to chase them to get help. The only bathrooms near the beach or pools at in the bar/restaurant and are not cleaned often. The pools and grounds are beautiful. The food and service at the restaurant are very good. Stores are a little far so we tried to use the bikes but they are in poor shaper. We were told they are getting new bikes.

We had a great time and the hotel was very nice. The room was great and had a very convenient kitchen/fridge but the staff was hit or miss. Most of the staff were great, though we repeatedly had to ask the front desk for reservations

Great resort. Nice grounds, nice accommodations, and a beautiful beach. Good food on the dinner menu at the restaurant but a bit pricey.

A bit of paradise

Posted Dec 19, 2014
Pros: the grounds. The accomodations. The staff. Peter Redstone, the master chef, had the best Jerk Chicken and put on a great lobster extravaganza.
Cons: Their bikes. Pelican Bay Restaurant. Having a place to shower before late day flights home.
Location: Great spot on the beach. A bit of a long walk to some restaurants and stores if you do not have a car or bike.
very relaxing. Nice facilities. Nice beach. Friendly and helpful staff. The best part of our stay was the view from our top floor balcony facing the ocean.

Beautiful beach and Friendly People

Posted Dec 15, 2014
Cons: Better pillows
Location: We did go snorkeling and shell and iguana hunting on a 4 hour excursion, which was fun. We tried to go on a scooter tour, but there were none left.
We were so pleased with the whole experience at Royal West Indies. The staff couldn't have been nicer, the room was very clean and comfortable (except for our pillows), the grounds were lovely with the pools and lush, tropical landscaping. The beach was white sand and turquoise water with chairs and umbrellas provided for free. The food was very good, too.

Returned after ten years!

Posted Dec 10, 2014
Pros: Amazing beach right in front of the hotel, lush tropical grounds, extremely clean and staff very helpful.
Cons: Towels near the pool instead of having to get them near the beach.
Location: Super close to the grocery store which was great. Graceway Gourmet has everything you could need for provisions.
My husband and I recently returned to the Royal West Indies and were thrilled that the resort was just as lovely and well maintained as we remembered. The grounds are very lush and since it only has three floors it feels intimate and cozy unlike some of the other bigger resorts. The pool and hot tub are wonderful and we appreciated the quiet pool area for adults only. When we checked in the room we were given on the first floor had a strong chemical smell due to the cleaner used by maid service. The staff at the front desk quickly moved us to a better room on the third floor which was perfect. We met many other couples who keep returning to the resort which I think says a lot about the place as well as the island!

Great Place for a Low Key Stay

Posted Dec 9, 2014
Pros: The gardens are beautiful and it's populated but doesn't feel over-crowded.
Cons: Dinner at the restaurant wasn't so great but that is the only meal we had there.
We like this resort as it's a manageable size and is relatively quiet. The walk to the beach from even the buildings furthest away is short. There are not a lot of organized, drink-fueled activities so things stay pretty calm. The location is close enough to shopping and dining that we did not need a car for our 4 night stay.
