Great place to relax

Posted Jan 27, 2015
Very close to the shops and supermarket. Lots of renting opportunities (bikes, cars, water sports equipment etc). Steps from the beach. The area of beach has silky smooth sand with next to no weed and plants on the beac . Crystal clear water and fantastic staff.

Best value with a wide beach

Posted Jan 27, 2015
Hotel is pleasant for the value. Grounds are kept in very nice condition. Good location with grocery nearby and the famous Coco Bistro just down the street. Best part was the beach. Literally the widest beach on Grace Bay is found in hotel front. Clean beach and locals don't hassle you like in the Bahamas. Worst part - some of employees appear cold and almost bitter towards guests. Though a few others were so kind. We hope they fire the "bad eggs." Otherwise we DO recommend this hotel. The wide beach is awesome! My 2nd stay in 3 years.

Has everything you need

Posted Jan 26, 2015
Pros: Location, gorgeous grounds, perfect beach setting right in the middle of Grace Bay, Pelican Bay restaurant. Bicycles available for guests.
Cons: Our room was on the noisy side; we could hear the morning grounds staff gathering their equipment, etc. Just opt for a 2nd or 3rd floor room instead.
Location: Perfect location in the middle of Grace Bay -- walk to shops and restaurants. Don't miss Coco Bistro and Pelican Bay "special" dining nights.
Royal West Indies has everything you need for a terrific stay. The rooms are well-appointed; studios have a kitchenette and the suites have fully-appointed kitchens. There is a washer and dryer in the rooms as well, so you can feel free to pack lighter! The resort is RIGHT on the beach and it is a beautiful beach. There are more than enough beach loungers and umbrellas available. The staff puts out a generic number of them each day but if they are all taken at the time you arrive for the beach, just ask and the staff will provide more. Resort is walking-distance to the grocery store and shops, and of course Coco Bistro, which is a MUST for dinner during your stay. The restaurant located at the resort (Pelican Bay restaurant) is also terrific; go during one of their "extravaganzas" or "carnivals" for a great meal: Lobster Extravaganza and Jerk Carnival were the BEST. This was our second trip to RWI and we'll be back again soon.

We had a great time at your resort.

Posted Jan 26, 2015
Pros: Hotel itself was very nice.
Cons: Bring prices down. Very expensive. (See above under Write about your experience.)
No elevators in hotel. Next time we will reserve a 1st floor beach front room. Restaurant nice but very pricey. Should offer a more extended menu and smaller portions for some items. For example instead of paying 10.00 for a huge plate of fruit, offer a smaller cup of fruit for $1-$2.00. Bottled water very expensive. Was charged $11.00 for a huge bottle of water which we never expected. Waiter went ahead and kept pouring us more water which we didn't even want. Let the guests pour the water as we need it. Smaller bottles of water were $3.00. Picked up bottled water for $.50 at local grocery store. One night a lobster fest was held at restaurant. Found out later the cost was $65.00 per person for all you can eat. Spent $130.00 that night and felt it was not worth it. Never would do that again and not many people showed up probably due to the high costs. Also in lobby one day, asked lady at tour guide desk for information about a day trip or tour. She had no information whatsover and could have cared less about helping us. She was more interested in checking out her personal information on her cell phone. Though we do plan on returning to your resort. We had a great time. Thank you.

Nice, quiet resort on the beach

Staff was excellent, room was clean, resort was beautiful. Only thing I would want different is a larger kitchen area. I would definitely stay again.

Nice hotel close to the beach

Very clean hotel with beautiful landscape, all surrounded by colorful plants and nice small pools. Hot tub is available. Food is overpriced, though.

Wonderful Resort

Posted Jan 21, 2015
Beautiful grounds and beach, nice rooms, relatively small resort and a great bar. Food is above average and all staff are nice yet some are fairly non plussed. Ive been to many a nice resort and the overall relaxing and beautiful experience is as good as you are good to get for the money.

I will definately return, best beach vacation venue I have be too. Great atmosphere, not over crowned, very well maintained and the staff went out of their way to make my vacation great. I'm planning on returning again next year.
