“Great place to stay on Grace Bay”
The Sands is a great place to keep a room while staying on Grace Bay. The rooms are clean and comfortable - I have no complaints. It is very quiet, however. The one bar at The Sands closes at 10PM - so don't expect to grab a drink at the bar before bed. Hemingways is great, for food during the day. I would recommend going to Graceway to get groceries, and maybe a bottle of rum to spike the nearly alcohol-less Pina Coladas!
“Can't wait to go back”
It's my third stay in this hotel, an it was exellent as always.
“BEST BEACH!”
This hotel by far had the best beach. My husband and I walked down the beach looking at other "expensive, lavish" hotels and their beaches were horrible! We felt lucky! I wish it was all inclusive but we used the bikes provided by the hotel and rode down to the supermarket (which is very nice) and bought groceries for breakfast & lunch and then we went out in town for dinner. The water is so amazing. I didn't think water could be so blue/clear. Very peaceful and would go back again.
“Will be returning”
We had a VERY quiet and relaxing stay at the Sands. The service at the hotel and the restaurant, Hemmingway's, was excellent. The beach was beautiful. The room was very spacious, seemed new, well maintained, comfortable and had a beautiful view of the ocean, even though it was a "courtyard view". The kitchen was fully equipped and the grocery store was nearby and handy for snacks or small meals if you don't want to eat out every meal. We were very glad we chose The Sands and hope to go back as soon as possible.
“very relaxing place to visit.”
The staff is well mannered. They meet your needs. They go out their way to make you feel comfortable and welcome. They service you on the beach. It is a great place to go to relax and whine down.
“was great”
fantastic beach very spacious
“Beautiful!”
The Sands is a beautiful hotel with great pools and an amazing view of the ocean. The service at Hemingway's was a little slow, but the food was delicious. We loved having complimentary use of the sailboats and other water equipment. The rooms were spacious and comfortable.
“"Disappointment"”
This Hotel was definitely a let down. I had expected to see a "Luxury Hotel" when I arrived for my Honeymoon & was completely disappointed with the Hotel's appearance. I had also booked an “Ocean view" room & my ocean view was completely obstructed by trees, when I complained to the Hotel Management they told me that all their rooms are "ocean view" & there was nothing they could do to accommodate me despite the fact that I had paid an additional cost for an Ocean view room. This hotel does not have entertainment either so our stay was extremely unsatisfactory. I do NOT recommend this hotel to anyone.
“Paradise Found!”
You can't go wrong with this resort! We just got back from the Sands (Sept 1- Sept 6) and had a wonderful time! The staff at the resort as well as the restaurant, Hemingway’s (which is right on premise) were very courteous and polite. We had a kitchenette that was equipped with sink, cupboards, microwave and utensils. There was also a washer and dryer in the unit where they also supplied us with washing powder. I mean this place was great! The beach is spectacular! Beautiful, pristine ocean water and sand that felt like baby powder! Lots of beach chairs for everyone! The resort is also very peaceful and quiet and not too crowded! And the grounds are kept very clean and immaculate! The location is also great and is within walking distance to lots of shops and restaurants so that you're not stuck eating at the same place every day! There is also a convenience store right across the street from the resort that sells your every day needs. Parking lot is great too! Nothing bad that I can say about this place except that it's very expensive out there and lots and lots of mosquitoes so bring your bug spray!
“Definitely take advantage of the kitchen”
We stayed for four nights with two young children. My wife came prepared and fully took advantage of the kitchen in our one bedroom. We were very impressed with how well equipped it is, including blender, toaster, dish washer, Whirlpool frig, dishes and utensils. Needless to say we had many meals with the grocery we bought from Graceway gourmet. We find the local restaurants serve too much fried food on the menu. There is nothing like having a lightly prepared meal after a day of tanning on the beach. The hotel's location in front of the beach is impeccable. The staff left us a voicemail the day before our departure asking if we needed transportation to the airport. It is small details like these that makes us want to go back again.
