“Great Hotel!”
We really enjoyed our stay at the Alexandra Resort. The room was clean and comfortable, the pool is gorgeous and the beach is unbeatable. The Mango Reef restaurant was my favorite restaurant in Providenciales.
“Not impressed. Looks better in photos than service you receive”
Definitely will not go back again. Pool dirty. When you ask them to clean it the man cleans the sides of the pool, while the remainder of the pool has debris floating all over. When you need something done, the staff takes about 2 days to get it done. No towels available when you walk out to the pool... took about 30 minutes for them to get them. Not stocked always. Bartenders decide to make drinks you order, with other alcohol other than what you ordered. Overall, not impressed and do not recommend. The staff pretend they care but they really don't. Unfortunately I had a migraine headache for 2 days there... I called the front desk and they brought a big bottle of Ibuprofen to my door and handed me 4. The following day I called and apologized for bothering them, but If I could get a few more Ibuprofen until I got to the store and they response "they ran out" Funny, because the day prior it was a huge filled bottle. Please do not go to this hotel!! Also- no room service available.
“smelly room”
The main problem we experienced is a strong odor in the room (probably chemicals). Especially our bed, the sheets & the pillows smelled so bad we couldn't sleep at nights. I was seriously considering to move out to another resort as the smell was unbearable. In addition, I suspect bed bugs there as I discovered several bites in the morning. The studio room is rather small but it was not a problem for us. The private terrace with a table and chairs is nice; it was lovely to have cup of coffee there in the morning. We enjoyed the kitchenette. However, the toaster did not work properly and the kitchen appliances were outdated. Housekeeping was inconsistent: one day the room was cleaned very well and before noon, another day it was cleaned ok, and at 4 pm; the shampoo, body wash, soap, & toilet paper were not replenished. Swimming pool area is beautiful and clean. The beach is gorgeous. If not smelly room & bed, and possibly bed bugs I would of recommend this resort.
“Wonderful first trip to Turks and Caicos”
The hotel staff was very helpful and friendly. Keep in mind they are on "island time" and are not going to be in a hurry to do anything, but that is just their way. The grounds and buildings were all beautifully maintained and clean. The resort's restaurant, Mango Reef, is very good. The best deals are breakfast and lunch, dinner was a little pricey. My only suggestion would be that they have more live music. We were there 7 nights and they only had entertainment one night and he was not very good at all. We would go back to the Alexandra in a heartbeat!
“Exceeded all expectations, it's simply Paradise!”
Just returned in late May from The Alexandra. WOW! This resort just surpassed all expectations I had. The location was perfect, the beach was absolutely breathtaking, and the service was impeccable! This was my first trip to the Caribbean, so I do not have anything to compare it to... but The Alexandra is just wonderful! The staff is so friendly whether it is at the front desk, house-keeping, or at the Mango Reef restaurant (The Alexandra's on-site restaurant). Located in between two extremely pricey resorts, you can't beat The Alexandra... you're on the exact same portion of Grace Bay Beach-- what more could you ask for? I loved the fact that it was really quiet and relaxing unlike some other resorts down the beach. I heard that during peak season it can be hard to find chairs or an umbrella, but we never had a problem. They even set up everything for you! If you want to take a day trip... Caicos Dream Tours picks you right up outside of the resort-- totally recommend it, it was amazing! Do the 1/2 day tour, its the perfect amount of time without being too exhausting! Just about a half a mile walk down the beach you will also stumble across a large reef that you can just go right out and snorkel on! How fabulous! I did not want to leave Turks and Caicos, and I most definitely did not want to leave The Alexandra Resort. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
“Alexandra Turks and Caicos April 2011”
We had a wonderful vacation. The hotel was great and so was the service. We had a 2 bedroom condo with an ocean view. The beach was incredible., not too crowded, and the water and sandy beach were spectacular. the Mango Reef restaurant had excellent food and was reasonably priced. It was a great place to spend our vacation with 2 teenage sons and a 5 yr old. There were many wonderful restaurants close by. It was a very relaxing trip. I would highly recommend this place!!
“We'll be back ASAP!”
Perfect location, clean, comfortable, friendly, great concierge service, good room rate, drinks very reasonable, close to great dining options, fun low key night life, can't wait to go back! The beach is gorgeous!
“there are many other better choices...”
Not at all what we were expecting, we travel to many places and this is a one star hotel. We had a beach view room, with some imagination you could perhaps see some blue through the palms, water or was that just the blue sky, not convinced it was the water! We were offered another choice of room, that one was even worse!! They did not have enough beach chairs or umbrellas, i do not like to get up at 7am on vacation to reserve one! When we returned to our room daily around 4 or 5, that is when they would come to clean and make the bed, very inconvient, all week we asked if they could come early, but request was not honored. Would not stay there again, there are many other better choices...
“Paradise!!”
What a wonderful week! The staff at the Alexandra became our friends and we were sad to leave. The food at the Mango Reef was delicious! We ordered something different every night and didn't have an entree' we didn't enjoy. The pool was ,clean, the beach was beautiful with comfortable chairs and lots of umbrellas. Our room was comfy and very clean. We were forced to stay 3 extra days due to a strike at the airport in Provideciales. We were given a room upgrade and a significant discount. They couldn't have been more understanding and helpful in this unplanned extension. We will definitly go back!
“Relaxing Vacation”
We had a great vacation stay at the Alexandra. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms and grounds are very clean! The atmosphere is quiet and relaxing which was exactly what we were looking for! We dined at the resort once for dinner , lunch and breakfast and always had a great meal! We rented a car which allowed us to try many places for dinner. I suggest picking up some groceries for an easy lunch or breakfast. The room had a microwave , refrigerator ,toaster and coffee pot that it made it easy to prepare a quick meal or snack. If your looking for a place with an active night life this wouldn't be a place for you. We found it was great to enjoy the night life at different places and come back to a quiet room!
