“Good location and facilities”

This hotel is located close to the university campus as well as a mall and other stores. The staff were very friendly and helpful; the room was clean and looked like it was recently redecorated. Overall I thought it was a very good deal and my stay there was problem-free!

“Nice hotel”

Nice newer hotel with good service, great coffee, and clean room with plenty of clean towels. The bathtub is a little small and the air conditioner a little noisy and close to the one bed. Overall a great location for us, nice and clean and great tasting readily available coffee with real half and half - an important amenity for me!

“Gracious Staff”

I have stayed at this hotel several times now and considering it is a Microtel, you definetely get what you pay for. The single rooms are somewhat small, but this is where the savings come in. During my most recent stay (after a Crimson Tide football weekend) I stayed in a single room—reflective of my frugality—but in the morning when I tried to take a shower, I discovered to my dismay that someone in maintenance had installed a new bath faucet that did not allow me to redirect the water to the showerhead. I'm sorry, but I have to take a shower when I get up in the morning and I am not willing to settle for a bath. I called the front desk to explain the problem and since I had already spent the night, it would be somewhat absurd to move me to a new room, the morning desk clerk did give me a key to the suite across the hallway so I could take my shower. I will give the staff kudos for their gracious handling of my situation (although I think they might want to search for a new maintenance supervisor). Next time I am in Tuscaloosa, I will request a suite so I can enjoy the extra space.

“Better than expected”

This was my first stay in a Microtel. I picked it based on how it reviewed relative to other Expedia reviews for hotels in Tuscaloosa. It is within a block of the recent tornado's path throught Tuscaloosa and you have to drive to a restaurant. One is a rare act of nature and the other is key to getting such reasonable rates. Other than that, it exceeded all my expectations.
