Wasting water

Posted Jun 16, 2015
Facilities need updating. It broke my heart to see how much water was wasted in the Palo Verde shower, desperately needs FiXing

Palo Verde was remodelled less than a year ago. For some reason the o-ring failed prematurely. It was a simple fix had we known about it. We care about the water too that is why we updated all of our bathrooms with dual flush toilets several years ago. We truly rely on timely feedback from our guests especially when the water is concerned because of our current drought situation. Thank you for bringing it to our attention.

I love this place. It's nothing fancy... just a really clean, nice set of efficiency suites on a great property, run to perfection by the manager Greg. Good hot tub. Pool table. Ping pong. Everything is spic and span. My kid and I have stayed here twice and we'll be back again and again.

Nice hotel near Joshua Tree entrance.

Posted Mar 25, 2015
Pros: Staff was very nice. Location and price of the hotel was great.
Cons: It could have been a little cleaner, although it was not bad.
Location: It's 5 minutes away from Joshua Tree National Park visitor center. Lots of hiking and sightseeing in the park.
We had a 2-room suite which was very nice and comfortable. We were able to cook our own food in the full-size kitchen. It had basic pots/pans and dishes/silverware for 4 people.

Nice, but a bit run down

Posted Mar 18, 2015
The hotel is ok, in quiet location, has some personality. The rooms and facilities are quite run down, room cleanliness is mediocre, there is a smoking smell in the room. Stay only if you get a good deal.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We apologize for the smoke smell. All of our suites are non-smoking and we do perform deep cleaning once we verify the room to have smoke smell. Guests are allowed to smoke in their private patios and the smell can be carried into the room. We recently audited our rooms for any look of being run down to ensure that they are updated. Your comments are appreciated.

Unique home away from home.

Posted Mar 2, 2015
Pros: The full kitchen was a blessing. Having a separate sitting area away from the bedroom was a benefit.
Sunnyvale Garden Suites is a unique hotel with character. Staff was friendly, helpful and informative. Accommodations.

We thank you for your comments. Our guests very often say we are unique, but I think maybe it is the first time that someone says unique with character. Please come and visit us again.

Comfortable, roomy, convenient

Posted Feb 18, 2015 on Hotels
I spent two nights here as a pit stop on a road trip so I could take 1.5 days to explore Joshua Tree National Park. I took a Suite One Bedroom Queen which is basically a small apartments with an open plan kitchen and living room/dining area separate from the bedroom and ensuite. Everything worked and the staff were friendly and helpful. It was clean and comfortable though a little dated. The area is quiet: the hotel is on the edge of town. The drive to the park is an easy 15 mins or so: about as close as you can get. It's on the north side of the park which was a good choice: it's almost an hour to cross from north to south and I feel there's more to see on the north side. I'd happily stay again if returning.

Thank you for your comments. The north side of Joshua Tree National Park has plenty to see plus it has a visitor center with park rangers that can help you plan your visit. We are working on our dated furniture although some of them are used to compliment the decor. Thanks again for staying with us and we hope to see you again soon.

So much potential but not clean

Posted Feb 4, 2015
The manager was exceptional. He greeted me, checked me in and took me to my room. Everything else needed improvement. Rooms were large and we'll set up but furniture was old and damaged. Shower had three types of hair on the wall, none of which were mine. There was something that looked like black mold coming out from under the baseboards. There was dirt or mold around all of the power sockets. The bathroom sink leaked all over the floor. There was no blanket on the bed, only a sheet and comforter and I wouldn't use the comforter. The carpet was stained. Would be an excellent place with great personality with a little cleaning and fixing. Lots of potential.

Thank you for taking the time to write your review. I apologize for the inexcusable condition of the unit. I personally looked into this and spoke with our staff to make sure that procedures are followed prior to checking in our guests. Our exceptional manager would have been able to correct the situation if he was notified. Thank you for the opportunity to be of service to you.

Quirky, fun, value for money!

Posted Jan 9, 2015 on Hotels
This hotel has a great, quirky personality which makes for a nice change from your typical, soul-less chains. The owner is a really laid back and friendly, gave a us a nice tour of the facilities even after we showed up a bit later on in the evening. The hotel rooms are spacious and the kitchen allows you to prepare a small home-cooked meals. Which is great because all the surrounding food venders tend to be fast-food. It was a great value for money as well.
