Hotel needs some workPosted Mar 3, 2014
Pros: Staff was friendly.
Cons: Cleanliness in the smoking rooms and a manager who knows the difference between a queen and full size bed.
Location: Yucca Valley is next to Joshua Tree and the National Park. It's a wonderful park to hike, back pack, camp and just plain relax in.
The hotel staff were nice people overall. Seems like a family run business. I did have one issue with the attitude and cleanliness of the place. I reserved a queen size bed and that was not what I received. The hotel gave me a full size bed for myself and my partner. I spoke to the manager about this and he said that all the beds in the hotel were queen. He proceeded to show me another room where one of the beds was a queen and the other was a full. I told him that the bed was not a queen and he began to get defensive with me about how "I know my hotel and I know the beds here". Alas, every place was sold out that weekend so my partner and I stayed in the hotel. It was fine for what we needed although we were a bit cramped on the full bed. The other thing I wasn't impressed with was the cleanliness of the chairs or carpets. I was stuck with a smoking room and it was smelly and felt dirty compared to the other non-smoking rooms I had a chance to peek at when I was leaving observing the maids across the hall cleaning other rooms.

We had a pleasant experience at the motel. It was clean, staff friendly, and overall a good experience.
Wish Expedia would have mentioned the pet feePosted Feb 26, 2014
The hotel was ok but the area was very far off I-10 and kind of desolate. The facility was not as nice as I would have hoped. If I hadn't been traveling with a male I wouldn't have stayed there. The hotel charged $20 per pet which came up to $80 for us. If I would have known this I would have just booked a closer and more expensive hotel for us. The hotel would have been ok if I had paid the low rate but once the bill came up to $150 it was totally not worth it. The water was cloudy, the bed spread could have been cleaner, the carpet could have been cleaner. There were other hotels I looked at that specifically listed a pet fee, and I didn't book them for that reason. I really wish expedia would have listed the fee on the hotel specifics page.

Curry home.Posted Feb 16, 2014
If you like curry, you'll love this hotel. The entire building was filled with the smell of curry as the owners live and cook in a 1st floor apartment. The dresser drawers in our room kept rolling open even after I used several motel brochures to try and shim it to level. Two nights were more than enough here.

Hotel reviewPosted Feb 5, 2014
Pros: It was a basic room at a very affordable rate. Room was comfortable and met my needs.
Cons: Nothing needs to be improved for the room rate that was charged.
Location: I was there to welcome my Marine son home from Afghanistan the next day at 29 Palms USMC Base about 18-20 miles away.
Very satisfied with the room for the economical rate that was charged.

Get rid of smoking rooms. Bad for allergies.Posted Feb 2, 2014
We would have enjoyed our stay if the entire hotel was smoke free and the corridors and were vacuumed.

Good hotel close to Joshua Tree NPPosted Jan 20, 2014
We arrived kind of late but the hotel staff was very friendly and answered all our questions and gave us advice for the next day. Very close to where we wanted to be the next day.

Cheap rates. While a good value, you getwhat youpay for (a basic place: old but clean)
