Had a wonderful time at The Kampung Resort Ubud. The staff is wonderful, the rooms are beautiful, and the location is ideal for relaxing and unwinding.
Also, the restaurant is delicious and has an amazing view. Try the Indonesian breakfast options (complimentary with my room booking), the fried rice was so yummy! Also the fresh orange juice.

We had a wonderful time in Bali. Most of our time was spent in and around Ubud with a day trip to the volcano, a coffee plantation, Kuta and Seminyak. The mountains are by far the most pleasant part of Bali. We found the people to be very kind and considerate (in general) but some were a little aggressive when wanting to sell you something!

I LOVED the Alila Ubud. It was lush greenery all around & the floor to ceiling sliding doors onto a small deck were perfect. It was unfortunate that the Cabana Lounge was under construction & I wished there had been tables with high top chairs & a wider arrange of beverage options.

My friend and I stayed at the safari park and lodge for one night. We had an incredible time. The staff were very friendly and I was very impressed to be greeted by a personalised itinerary when we checked in. This really helped us to make the most of our time there. It was amazing to be chauffeured to dinner by an elephant. I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Bali and would definitely go again!

An amazingly beautiful hotel hidden on the slope of a hill in the rain forest above a stream overlooking Virgin rainforest on another Hill just north of Ubud. Friendly staff, I could go on and on about it, it might be best to experience it. I had a private villa with a private infinity pool which was awesome. Marble bathroom was in good condition and so was the rest of the stylish interior . There are excellent stream side massage facilities and they also have yoga to complete their lifestyle selling point. Ok, if I had to give negative points, they are small. The water pressure was not the best. I also think that if you are looking for late night drinks it my also be problematic, since the curtains are made of a white fabric which probably only there to give extra privacy. This hotel is not selling that lifestyle. All in all an awesome place to stay.

Beautiful looking hotel. Breakfast and some of the evening menu a bit average. Room needed to be updated a little, TV was at least 15 years old. Staff were all excellent, strange though they don't seem to be required to walk around pool area and ask if you require any refreshments like all other 5 star hotels I've stayed in. I didn't see it happen once.

The stay at the villa was absolutely amazing. The staff is top notch and the drivers are safe and very knowledgeable. They made us feel like the most important guests staying at the villas for the entire trip. They were very quick to respond to any request and always worked around our schedule. We never had to be inconvenienced by them wanting to clean at certain times or feeling like we were on their schedule. They cared about our experience in and outside the villa and made sure to know our plans so that they could have room service and everything done while we were out. The manager is a super nice guy and even got U.S. special seating at one of the local restaurants. Would strongly recommend this villa to anyone planning on going to Bali. It is the perfect place for 2.
Huge bonus was the monkeys coming to visit every morning. It was great to see them just waking around and playing around the villa.

For every person that stays there are 10 staffers watching you. We felt uncomfortable by the way they treated us. It was an overly nice "we are watching you" way, which was strange since we are well dressed, respectable American businessmen. They don't seem to understand the American culture at all - we don't want to be followed and we don't want to sit in a restaurant with 4 staffers staring at us waiting for us to order something. What was particularly annoying is everywhere you go in the resort they ask you your room number - you probably get asked 12-15 times a day, no lie. Anyone else who stays here will understand exactly what I am saying. It's all just too much. Relax, you have a gated community and plenty of security people, you don't need to harass your guests and make them feel like they something isn't right.

"Lovely hotel and setting with very freindly staff"
However - Expedia show the hotel in the wrong location and you will need to plan 20-30 minutes by vehicle to get to Ubud town!
Also, not instantly obvious on the website but there is no onsite restaurant or Spa.

We were very happy with our experience in the 1 bdm Villa (Darma).
A very peaceful setting about 10-15 mins out of town. The distance from town was a bonus for us as we had a motorbike to get in and around and looked forward to coming home to such a peaceful setting.
Staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The main pool looked very inviting, but we didn't use as we were spoilt with our own private pool at our Villa.
Only disappointment for us was the night we ate at the restaurant - the food was simply dreadful and charged at $20 USD per head - which personally drives me nuts to be quoted in USD!
Breakfast was simple and edible - nothing to rave about

Ubud is the arts and cultural centre of the island. This charming mountain settlement is 25 km (1 hour’s drive) north of Denpasar and comprises 14 villages dotted with palaces, temples, museums, galleries, shops, arts and crafts, and excellent restaurants. Other than a few nightspots, village life is quiet and serene. Don’t miss the nightly traditional dance performances and nearby Monkey Forest Park.
