Great location and value.Posted Aug 24, 2014
Pros: Restaurant, location.
Cons: Room could have been better presented, in need of a bit of attention to detail.
Location: All the major sites of Udaipur.
This hotel is in a great location, overlooking the northern lake (well worth a walk along). Describing itself as a budget hotel is probably a mistake on their part, on balance, once I had settled in, I felt it was better than that. Udaipur is popular with Indian tourists and can be expensive for accommodation and this hotel fills a nice gap between the very high end and the budget hotels. A reasonable walk into Udaipur once you have found the route but there are plenty of auto rickshaws if you want. Restaurant overlooks the lake, has a good menu, great service and fantastic views.
An excellent experience by lakeside.Posted Mar 2, 2013 on Hotels.com
Our stay at hotel Rampratap Palace was a wonderful experience . The best part was the beautiful lake view from the hotel . Although a small hotel, it's service & quality was no less than a 4 star hotel. Dinner at their lakeside restaurant was another memorable experience. We were amazed at the speedy service on the day we ordered room service dinner . Breakfast too was sumptous. The staff was extremely courteous & helpful. They gave us some good tips for sightseeing too & responded promptly to all our requests. I would highly recommend this hotel

A friendly and efficient hotel in a lovely lakeside position with a delighful garden restaurant. Just misses being really top quality, perhaps just a bit tired and needing an injection of energy from management.

Great LocationPosted Jan 5, 2013 on Hotels.com
This hotel is located and has good lake views. Rooms and cleanliness were ok and could definitely be better. Staff did just enough without ever trying to be of help. It’s not like they were not doing their job but queries and requests were generally was not met with any enthusiastic response. Breakfast spread was ok and the restaurant food was good though with limited menu.

Excellent property for that price.Posted Aug 21, 2012 on Hotels.com
Lake view rooms, heritage property in real sense. Very convinient lcation and excellent restraunt of the hotel. Highly reccomended. Only issue was lack of any other amenities like kidsmplay area, swimming pool etc, which considering the price is not relevant.

Good to a night or two.Posted Apr 18, 2012
Pros: The lake view, dinner intheir restaurant
Cons: The smell that gets into the wash room through the downpipe
The wash room in this hotel has the lights inside, therefore one can imagine. Again there were no floor mats in the wash room , anytie you go in , you have to wet your feet. what else to say.

Hotel with characterPosted Apr 15, 2012
Pros: The archecture of the building with its inner courtyard for the breakfast buffet.
Cons: No inroom coffee or tea making facilities
Exotic hotel in lovely location, service unpretentious, no frills, no tea making facilities provided. Basic services at reception. Excellent restaurant with romantic setting alongside lake. A very good midrange hotel we would recommend it.

Picturesque hotel overlooking Lake Fateh SagarPosted Jan 6, 2012
Pros: The building and inner courtyard are very beautiful - whisks you back to an era of Maharajas and royal courts.
Cons: The rooms were quite cold - maybe portable heaters could be provided during the winter.
Location: Located next to the peaceful Lake Fateh Sagar, very scenic and relaxing. Just a short rickshaw ride away to the City Palace and main shopping area.
After looking at pictures on the hotel website, we had high expectations of Ram Pratap Palace. The beautiful exterior of the building and inner courtyard did not disappoint - it definitely looked like a palace; the location and view from the roof terrace over lake Fateh Sagar were also very picturesque. However, the bedrooms were a bit of a let down. Although clean and spacious, the rooms were quite cold, dark and not very cosy. We visited in December when the weather was quite cold in the mornings and evenings. We were only provided with clean sheets and pillow, covered by a rather old, musty blanket, which we didn't really want to use - so had to wear lots of layers to bed instead! There was no heating in the room either, only AC. One plus point was the shower, which was excellent, with plenty of hot water. The restaurant - which is actually outside and across the road from the hotel - had very good food, and a beautiful garden overlooking the lake, which would be perfect on warmer evenings. We were woken every morning at 7.30 by the soothing sounds of a musician playing the shehnai outside the breakfast area, which was a nice touch. The breakfast buffet was ok, with a selection of Indian dishes, toast, eggs. On the last day we were checking out very early, and the Reception staff were kind enough to offer an early light breakfast if we wanted. The staff were very helpful throughout and were always on hand whenever we needed anything.

An oasis for all travelersPosted Jul 3, 2011 on Hotels.com
This hotel provides service and standards that are welcomed by all travelers. I arrived in the middle of the night in a thunder storm and I was still made to feel so very welcome. In the morning and again the next evening the hospitality and the service just didn't stop. It is such a pleasure to visit this hotel and I would recommend it even over some of the bigger name hotels in the region. I absolutly will return without hesitation.
