Pros: Personal service with a smile.
Cons: Maybe a little more entertainment into the evening.
An amazing experience! The staff were incredibly helpful, and always went that little bit further to help! To name a few; Santu bought a hot toddy to sort out my cold symptoms without me asking! Jaydeep provided an excellent personal service for breakfast! Lancelot who made our evening in the rooftop restaurant, a truly memorable evening, he made sure we were kept warm, and made our special anniversary evening very special. The palace experience is memorable and the views are breathtakingly fabulous, both in the daytime, and when everything is lit up at night.

Once in a lifetime treatPosted Oct 20, 2013
Pros: Location - Middle of Lake Pichola Property - Former royal palace, with gardens and intimate sitting areas Service - Impeccable but not obtrusive
Cons: We found no faults with the hotel or its service.
Location: City Palace & Museum is just opposite the hotel, a short walk from the Lake Palace boat jetty.
We recently spent two delightful days at the Taj Lake Palace with another married couple. Our stay was phenomenal, from top to bottom. The food and service were both excellent and the hotel building, gardens and furnishings are all magnificent. Having visited Udaipur 30+ years ago as a backpacking student, I have long wanted to stay at the Lake Palace Hotel. As a former palace of the Maharana of Udaipur, it is a very special place. We had a fabulous stay even though we stayed in the smallest (and least expensive) rooms, with a garden view rather than a lake view. This resulted in our spending more time enjoying the many special features of this hotel rather than sitting in our rooms. We highly recommend the Taj Lake Palace for a very special occasion such as a honeymoon or anniversary. Yes, it is expensive, but the memories of a stay here will produce smiles for many years to come.

Is there any other place on earth like this?Posted Mar 17, 2013
Pros: The ambience of this very unique palace.
Cons: Anyway who could find fault with this hotel must be impossible to please.
Location: What more can one say about a beautiful palace that appears to float in the middle of a lake.
Words cannot describe this amazing palace and the experience you will have here - you need to stay here at least once in a lifetime. From the moment you step off the boat and are showered with rose petals you are treated like royalty. We loved our Room 242 - very large with a big and very luxurious bathroom and best of all a window seat/bed with views across the lake to the City Palace. We also had close access to the huge rooftop area with views both across the lake and the delightful internal courtyard. Meals in the restaurants were also superb with wonderful wait staff. We found it almost impossible to leave the palace to go exploring Udaipur itself.

A trully magnificent palacePosted Feb 6, 2013
Pros: the hotel itself
Cons: service and swimming pool
The minute they take you on the boat to get you to this magnificent palace you already feel back in the days like a maharaja going to his summer palace. Taj Lake Palace is one of the best hotels we stayed in, and hotel is not the right word - it is by every way - a gorgeous palace in the middle of the lake with stunning views over Udaipur and the city palace. The hotel is an absolute gem, the rooms are beautifully decorated, the minute you walk in and you become speechless of its beauty and serenity. I planned a surprise dinner for my fiance's birthday, which they organized to perfection - candlelit setting in the mewar towe - an incredible experience, which i would recommend to everyone visiting the hotel. The only criticism we would have is that service is not as good as in Oberoi and the water in the swimming pool wasn't clean.

Of the 500 or so hotels I've stayed at in my life, this is probably the best. Idyllic location in the middle of the lake, gorgeous hotel, extremely helpful staff. A little slice of heaven.

Fantastic hotel for romantic stayPosted Jan 8, 2013
Pros: friendly hotel staff, great experience
Cons: nothing, all was very good
Location: the location is fantastic, right in the middle of the lake Pichola. beautiful view, and you can easily get to the city via 5 min boat ride
Fantastic hotel! Very friendly stuff, they organize anything you request for fast and accurate. One of the best hotels I have steayed in so far. We had a regular room, but they upgraded us to the one with a terrace and a nice view. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a great experience in Udaipur and nice ambience at Pichola Lake.
