Gotta have a lake frontPosted Sep 23, 2013
Pros: The room was great, the tub and shower a welcome comfort. The view was most impressive. I really can't say enough about the staff...top notch.
Location: City Palace and lots of touristy things, easy to get to.
Started off a bit rocky but once the bumps got ironed out the experience was wonderful. This staff went above and beyond to make our stay great. Once all of the issues were worked out it was amazing. The hotel butler staff was there to help with anything we needed (top notch). The pool was great and the ice tea coolers were a nice surprise. The spa was hailed as a "you gotta have a treatment" and they didn't disappoint. It was a great thrill to take the boat back and forth to the city, of course you could go out the main gate, but why would you want to. We will make another trip to this amazing resort again, and I'm sure very soon.

Once-in-a-lifetime kind of ExperiencePosted Sep 11, 2013 on Hotels.com
The property is exceptional is all respects. The staff is extra-ordinarily courteous. The best part was that we had booked a room and we were automatically upgraded to a Suite which was such a pleasant surprise. The only minor downside was that the best restaurant in the property Shesh Mahal, the one that overlooks Lake Pichola, was closed since it opens only from Oct once the whether becomes more pleasant. If you are a connoisseur of hotels, this hotel is a must-go.

Location: This is in excellent location, very scenic.
This is in excellent location, very scenic. On our arrival they were happy to provide a wheel chair for me as as I was unwell and could not climb the slop from the boat to the hotel. They looked after us all the time and especially as we were down with a bug, they were able to source us some imodium too. We are going back again to stay for a few days may be next year. All the staff spoke very good English, polite, very helpful, understanding and made us feel very welcome.

A new experiencePosted Jun 19, 2013
Pros: The building and style of the hotel is outstanding, starting with the outfit of the staff and the plants, buildings, furniture, smells, everything..
Cons: The wifi connection was really poor, cutting all the time and very slow
Location: I think we can say the location is absolutely perfect for Udaipur. The touristic places are near and the lake view is just amazing.
As a hospitality graduate and professionnal, I had some suspicions about indian palaces. I was wrong. The hospitality style may make you feel a little bit awkward at the beggining (flower petals rain, pictures, singers staring at you while singing) but we have to understand this is how kings and queens were treated over there and their aim is to make us feel like them. The staff there is 100% customer-orientated. Compared to some Taj hotels, they would need little bit more cross training to increase their service quality but the level is already very high for india and their will to do well is stunning ! Do not feel bad to tell them if you need more privacy, they will do (I asked them that). The Hotel itself is really stunning, I think I have rarely seen such a beautiful place in my life : the standing is far upon many 5 * palaces I've seen in Switzerland and all over the world (I am speaking about the building and decoration). This is probably because of the price of man power and materials.. The breakfast buffet is of a rich diversity and will fit to all tastes. I had a special "coup de coeur" (crush on) for the green tea, perfectly done. I have to add that I have travelled there during the very low season so I think my opinion doesn't count for the high one, when the staff will be the busiest. And to give you an idea, the staff is employing 300 people ! for less than 60 rooms. I leave you calcule the quota staff/customer. Enjoy !

Truly luxurious property with service to match!Posted Mar 23, 2013 on Hotels.com
Leela palace is situated in a great location with views of the City Palace and lake. The moment you arrive you'll feel how incredible the service is. Book a heritage view room with balcony if you want to grab some nice landscape photos from the comfort of your own privacy. All meals are prepare fresh, simple and very delicious. Breakfast was outstanding.

Perfect for a romantic weekend.Posted Feb 13, 2013 on Hotels.com
My wife and I celebrated our first anniversary here and taking into account the occasion, the hotel did not fail to deliver. We arrived early on the day of our stay and the staff gave us a very warm welcome. Although, we did inform the reservation department of our early arrival, somehow the hotel did not get the notice. In spite of this, our room was ready very quickly and we were offered breakfast in the meantime. The location of the hotel is quite convenient based upon its distance to a couple of the tourist spots in Udaipur. Also, the fact that you need to use the boat to cross, adds to the attractiveness of the property. Talking about the amenities, the Leela has everything to offer. We specially enjoyed the evening entertainment and the dinner at the Sheesh Mahal (best place to enjoy the view of the City Palace and Lake Palace at night). All in all, a very nice relaxing weekend. We'll definitely be back soon!

A little bit of luxury.....Posted Jan 11, 2013
This hotel was our 'luxury' part of mine and my husband's holiday where we planned to have a relaxing time after a hectic trip in New Delhi and Jaipur. We stayed here for 3 days and were made to feel like royalty and it totally met our needs! The food was excellent and we met the chef each evening who came over after the meal every night to ensure we were happy with the food. All staff were very attentive to our needs from the pool attendants to the butler service. I had a fantastic massage at the Spa and went to one of the free yoga classes which the hotel offers. We also had a trip around the lake to watch the sunset which was lovely. Finally, the really nice thing we liked is that we were not required to pay tips every time and you could give tips in an envelope at the end of the stay which would be shared out between all staff. It was expensive but more than worth it - not too sure on how you could improve this hotel.

Service makes you feel like "royalty" ...Posted Dec 16, 2012
Pros: Service, Food, Location and the sheer décor and architecture of the hotel
Location: Right on the banks of Lake Pichola with gorgeous views of the Lake Palace and Summer Palace.
The location of the hotel is simply breath-taking, right on the banks of the lake. The hotel is simply stunning in architecture and décor ... it feels truly like a palace. Also, the service of the staff, right from the bell boy to butler, to managers and receptionists is simply impeccable ... they make you feel like "king and "queen". The food is also outstanding at the property - a true gem in Udaipur. Would definitely visit the property again in the future. two thumbs up.
